[7-Month Review] Never Forget Your Beginner's Mind
Octopus-blowing
It's Mr. Edase.
As of yesterday, May 19th,
seven months have passed since my first note post.
Last time, at the six-month mark,
I did a review in a rich, thick tonkotsu style,
so
this time,
I will do a review in a light, clear soy sauce style.
review.
I will never forget my gratitude to all of you
who take the time to read
these silly articles.
Thank you all so much, truly.
Well then.
This past month
During this past month
First,
I launched a collaborative magazine.
I am currently looking for participants.
And then,66-Day Writing x RunningI started the challenge
based on timing, happenings, and a whimwith
it.
This article marks the 20th day.
There is still a long way to go, so I must not let my guard down.
Also,
#WhatAreYouTalkingAboutI got hooked on
strolling through the back alleys of note.
I'm happy that there are so many strange people around.
And,
I received a generous title from Nao Kurosaki:
Mr. Octopus-Blower.

Nao Kurosaki-certified.
This is a great honor.
I was so happy I blew an octopus.
...
Huh?
Don't blow an octopus!!
...
Hmm?
I still don't know
what an "octopus" is (lol)
My note life
this past month was pretty much like this.
A willfully lost soul
If there are any long-time readers of mine out there,
you might be worried, thinking,
"Hey, your character has completely fallen apart.""Are you okay?"
Perhaps you are concerned.
No,
perhaps this is when I am
enjoying note the most freely,
and showing my "true self."
Experts worry that I am
"too exposed" or "too bare," but
I have always been the type of person
that students would laugh at, saying,
"It's easy to tell what Edase is thinking,"
so it feels like I have finally
managed to get my "true self" (the real me)
onto note.
If that's the case,
well, what's next!
What should I do from here???
That's the question.
I'll think about it with my arms crossed.
I've already reached a conclusion.
This won't do as it is (bitter laugh).
I want to enjoy note even more!
No,
maybe it's fine as it is.
It is a lot of fun, after all.
But,
since I am weak to my desires,
if I leave things as they are,
I'll end up drinking shochu in a back alley,
and start falling asleep on the street.
That would be fine, too.
That would definitely be fun as well (bitter laugh).
Still, what's interesting is
poking at the
"edge"between the back alley and the main street.
Maintaining an exquisite balance while continuing to write articles.
Never stop moving forward.
The delicate balance between entertainment and sincerity.
Consistently
moving the reader's heart.

People change.
Realizing you can bring joy to yourself and others.
Subjective transformation.
As I grow, others grow.

While listening closely to the
whispered secrets in the back alleys
of the sophisticated seniors,
and while being encouraged by the posts of
my fellow writers running alongside me in magazines and writing challenges,

I, too, want to eventually accumulate articles
that bring joy and encouragement
to other Noters.
□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□
My ambition
is just that one thing.
Even so,
in seven months, I have been able to
clearly visualize the personalities
of the Noters.
I am always imagining
what kind of people they must be
in real life.
The people I feel a sense of closeness to
are mostly in the 'eccentric' category,
but that is the highest compliment.
Without all of you with such strong character and personality,
I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Note
for these seven months!
That, at least,
is my honest, heartfelt truth.
And finally,
thank you.
While keeping a clear image
of all your personalities,
I will continue to
push the boundaries.
I will keep blowing my own trumpet.
Thank you so much
for reading until the end.
