[Day 3 - Free Release] For those who post but don't sell. A practical program to organize your Threads x note funnel
Day 3 | How to design a "funnel" that naturally connects Threads to note
Even though you keep posting on Threads, are you in a situation where "you get likes, but no one looks at your profile," "even if they look at your profile, they don't read your note," or "when you introduce your note, it suddenly feels like a sales pitch"? Are you in that kind of state?
Actually, the reason people don't move from Threads to note isn't necessarily because your post content is bad. In many cases, the cause lies much further back.
[Your posts, profile, and note are created separately]
This is the problem.
You make helpful posts on Threads. You put a link to your note in your profile. At first glance, it looks like a proper funnel is in place. However, from the reader's perspective, it is often the case that they don't understand "why they need to look at your profile" or "why they need to move to your note."
[Just placing a link won't make people move.]
This is very important. A funnel is not determined by the number of links, but by how the reader's feelings move.

A funnel is a "flow of feelings," not a link
When people hear "funnel design," many think of "placing a link in the profile" or "introducing a note at the end of a post." Of course, links are necessary. However, what you really need to design is not the location of the links.
What you need to design is the reader's feelings.
Readers don't think about buying a note immediately after seeing a Threads post. It starts with a small interest, such as "I understand this post a little," "This person's story is easy to understand," or "I want to read a little more."
After that, they think, "I wonder what kind of person is writing this," and look at your profile. Only when they realize, "This is a person who is posting about things relevant to me," do they become interested in the linked note.
[The correct order of a funnel]
Create interest with a post
↓
Have them realize it's relevant to them through your profile
↓
Have them learn about your way of thinking and expertise in depth through your note
This is the order.
Readers don't move because there is a link. They move because they have a reason to think, "I want to see what's next."
The role of a post is not "sales"
When you want to connect Threads to products or services, you tend to explain too much within the post. Achievements, product details, benefits, price, links. You feel like you'll sell more if you convey everything.
However, if you try to sell everything in a Threads post, readers will get defensive. Even if you intend to explain it carefully, it may be seen as a sales post by the reader.
The role of a Threads post is not to sell.
[I want to read a little more of what this person has to say]
First, your goal is to lead them to this point.
For example, just writing 'It's better not to sell on Threads' ends up being just another common post. On the other hand, if you write, 'The more people struggle to sell on Threads, the more they try to explain their product in every single post. Actually, posts have roles other than selling,' it creates curiosity: 'Then, what is the role of a post?'
You don't need to hide all the answers in your post. That just looks like you're dragging things out. Give the reader a proper answer that makes them feel it was 'useful,' while naturally leaving them wanting to know what comes next.
[Provide a useful answer, and leave the next question behind.]
This is a post that makes people want to move forward.
Your profile is not just a self-introduction.
You might want to write about your background or your hobbies in your profile. Of course, conveying your personality is also important. However, what a reader coming from Threads is looking at first isn't just 'who this person is.'
What they are looking at even more is,
[What kind of information can this person give me?]
That is what matters.
For example, just saying 'I post about working freely' doesn't tell them what they can read. The words aren't bad, but the scope is too broad.
On the other hand, if it says, 'Explaining how to use Threads and note to connect to products and services without hard selling,' the connection to the post they just read becomes clear. Furthermore, if you add, 'For those who are posting but not connecting to products or services,' it becomes easier for the reader to judge if it's relevant to them.
A profile is not a place to list your resume.
[It is a signpost that tells people who became interested through your posts why they should read more.]
If you say good things in your posts, but the moment they look at your profile they think, 'What does this person actually do?', the flow stops there. That is a huge waste.
note is a place to deepen trust.
Readers who have moved from your profile to note do not yet fully trust you. They are at the stage where they are slightly interested and thinking about hearing a little more of what you have to say.
In that state, if you strongly push only paid notes from the start, they may feel like they are 'about to be sold to' and leave. Just because they came to your note doesn't mean they are ready to buy immediately.
Free notes have roles beyond just providing information for free.
“This person's explanation is easy to understand.”
“It doesn't seem like they're just talking about surface-level things.”
“This is a story from someone who has actually experienced it.”
The goal is to make them feel these things.
Even just reading a free article provides one realization. On top of that, those who feel they want to know more specific methods will proceed to the paid article.
[The purpose of a free note is not to teach everything for free.]
However, it is also not about providing almost no information and only leading them to paid articles.
Convey the mindset for free. Convey the practical methods and specific designs in the paid version. By dividing it this way, you can suppress the feeling of being sold to while making it easier to naturally lead them to the next step.
Have them read the free note and think, “If it's this easy to understand, I want to read deeper content.” Creating that state is important.
Three connections to check first
If you want to connect from Threads to note, first check the following three things. Before doing difficult analysis, just looking at these will reveal many places where the funnel is broken.
[Three connections to check]
1. Is there a reason for people who read your posts to want to see your profile?
2. Can people who see your profile understand the reason to read your note?
3. Do people who read your note know what they should read next?
If these three are connected, readers will naturally move to the next step without you having to sell hard. Conversely, if even one of them is broken, people won't move even if you place a link.
For example, if your posts are being read but your profile isn't being viewed, there is a possibility that you haven't created interest in yourself as a creator. If your profile is being viewed but people aren't moving to your note, your profile and the content of your note might not be connected.
If your note is being read but people aren't moving to the next article, it is possible that you haven't indicated “what they should read next” at the end of the article.
[Funnel design is not about forcing people to move.]
It is about preparing the path so that interested people can move to the next step without getting lost.
Day 3 Summary
When people aren't moving from Threads to note, don't immediately try to fix just the post content. The first step is to check whether your posts, profile, and note are each facing different directions.
Create interest in your posts. Have them understand that your content is relevant to them in your profile. Have them learn about your mindset and expertise in depth in your note.
[Post → Profile → note]
Only when this flow is connected does it become a true funnel.
Just having a link is not enough. Please check if you have provided a reason for readers to think "I want to see more" in each location.
In the next article, I will talk about how to end your posts in a way that makes people want to read more without being pushy, which is crucial when directing traffic to your profile or note.
