MAGICAL SPEC 5th Anniversary Grand Thanksgiving Fukuoka Performance [Impressions]

Sunday, March 22, 2026, the last day of the long weekend.
The cloudy sky made the clear weather from the day before feel like a dream. This time, I brought a folding umbrella with me.

There was a solo concert for the MAGICAL SPEC 5th anniversary, an IQ Project event to commemorate it, and following the Grand Thanksgiving in Tokyo, there was a Grand Thanksgiving in Fukuoka, which I attended.

As I headed toward Oyafuko-dori, it started to rain just as the forecast predicted.

I had been curious about the line next to DrumB-1 before, but I had no idea DrumSON was behind it. Walking past DrumB-1 felt like exploring a dungeon, and I found a crowd in the back.

DrumSON was right behind it.

I entered, went up the stairs, and there was the venue! The lockers were right in front of the drinks and were cheap too! I felt relieved to be able to store my things.

This was a concert where photography was allowed, but surprisingly, everyone wasn't just snapping away and was actually enjoying the show. Since I'm more of a 'live show enjoyer' than a 'photographer' (that's a long way to say it), I decided to just enjoy it.

The members appeared, and SHIKI-chan on stage right said, 'Today is the MAGICAL SPEC 5th Anniversary Grand Thanksgiving! Let's get excited and make this a hot day!' It was a refreshing start that blew the rain away!

And the first song was “sparkling”!? It was one of my favorite songs right from the start, it was irresistible... I wanted to take photos, but I also wanted to burn it into my eyes and ears...

The second song, “COSMIC ANGEL”, was also irresistible!

RINKA-chan passionately hyped us up, saying, 'Let's make this a hot day!' and 'Make more noise!'

“Jumping to” was also great to hear!! I love this song too... And next was, believe it or not,
“Mayonaka Tour Loop”! Is this the first time the current lineup has performed it?? It's a song AIKA-chan said on a stream was her favorite. Personally, it was my first time catching it, and I was happy to see it. AIKA-chan, who started the singing, was full of spirit as expected, so cool...!! She did the choreography where you wave your index finger like 'Don-dake~' with a straight face, but AIKA-chan's intense straight face and the choreography...!!
As expected of a comedian...!

First-generation members RINKA-chan and KOTONE-chan were also doing surreal straight faces, while second-generation members ANNA-chan and AYA-chan had soothing archaic smiles, so it was a treat to enjoy both styles.

And then “Nee.”...!! Personally, it had been since LEADING FUKUOKA in July two years ago...!! As a DD (someone who likes many groups), there are too many goodbyes these days. The lyrics of this song hit me straight in the heart. The word 'nanairo' (seven colors) especially reminded me of ukka, and since that day at LEADING FUKUOKA where I saw both MAGICAL SPEC and ukka, it felt lonely that such a day would come. Because I have these MAGICAL SPEC shows, I can keep being an otaku looking toward the future, but I decided I want to go to as many shows as possible so I have no regrets.

I'm used to the version from SORA-chan's graduation, so the dance during the interlude felt fresh. (Though it was the same for LEADING FUKUOKA too)

Also, in the 2A section, the line that was originally MIHARU-chan's, 'It's a secret that I felt lonely when you said it's a habit to want to change, but I really love you just the way you are,' was sung by AYA-chan, and it was so touching and wonderful at the same time.

And then the extended version of the SE for “see you…” arrived. I wanted to hear this, so it was irresistible...

“super magical” also has that irresistible theme song feel that acts as their calling card.

“Cyber Climber” got me fired up once I realized the mix at the beginning.

The new song “Video Girl Crisis” is also fun, and AYA-chan's 'Let's take off the brakes!' is irresistible... and MEI-chan's 'Invincible Mode!!' too!!

“Bikini-cation”—of course it's going to get hyped up after taking the brakes off!?

From the SE, “HAPPYSMILE”!
AYA-chan said, 'Thank you for 5 years! Please continue to support us!' (or something to that nuance; anyway, I was so hyped that my memory flew away...)

The end was “Camellia”...! RINKA-chan also hyped us up by saying 'Everyone, shout louder!' and it reached a climax!

Maybe the lingering excitement was too strong, but when O-numa-san started the announcement saying 'This performance has now concluded,' an encore erupted in a panic lol

I got hyped by the clapping from the intro...! YUYU-chan hyped us up with 'Clap!' near the B-melody where it wasn't supposed to be, and it was cool how she pulled it off (I'm weak for shrinking back after making a mistake in Camellia... and I know how hard daily train commuting is, so it must be tough...)

Next, KOTONE-chan gave words of gratitude once again for the 5th anniversary, and they performed “Parallel” starting with a ballad, which was also performed at the special version of the Fukuoka 5th anniversary one-man live.

Every time I listen to it, I think that it was inevitable that I would end up going to MagiSpe events often, and although I have some regrets, the fact that I could hear 'Nee.' made it resonate deeply in my heart.

The last song was 'Maji? cool! SPEC,' and it ended on a super high note...!!

MagiSpe events, including free lives and 500-yen lives, always have the best setlists for their one-man shows. I guess it's because their collection of songs is really strong and includes many of my favorites...

I was able to use an idol stamp card benefit for the first time in my life!! Thank you for always remembering my name... It's a huge help that I can talk to you calmly, and it's so healing.

AIKA-chan, whose streams I always watch because they're fun, is very easy to talk to in a different way than AYA-chan, which is a huge help...

In conclusion

I was happy to be able to participate in the Magical Spec 5th anniversary event in Fukuoka. It was a venue I had wanted to go to for a long time until last year but couldn't quite make it to, so I was grateful that I'm finally able to go once a month now. (It's a really big deal that I've been able to establish a means of transportation that combines cost-performance and time-performance for local trains and highway buses...)

Even though CHOSHUCALLING was decided, I have work on Saturday, and a final live that I absolutely cannot miss on Sunday overlaps with it, and it's so frustrating that the Magical Spec entrance ceremony in Fukuoka also overlaps with rice planting, but it looks like I can go on 4/19, and I'm really grateful that I can definitely go at a pace of once a month somewhere...
