CYNHN "INVERSION" Release Event Fukuoka [Impressions]

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, I attended both the first and second parts of the release event for CYNHN's 3rd album "INVERSION" at Canal City Hakata.

It seems a LINE stamp card was introduced starting with this release event, and when I pre-ordered at the register, there was a QR code I scanned to get one stamp. There were benefits depending on the number of stamps, but since I only had four, it was just a souvenir for me as I'm only in Fukuoka.

Rehearsal

The setup of the stage markings and such was slightly delayed, and the rehearsal started around 12:50 PM after priority entry for the first part began. When the members entered and walked along the edge of the stage pond, Minori-chan walked by looking anxious, saying, "I might fall..." Tooru-chan was wearing a black down jacket over her costume.

Shiki-chan greeted the venue, saying they were about to start the rehearsal. She promoted them by saying, "We are a vocal group that came from Tokyo!"

The song they checked during the rehearsal was the new song "Nominee"!!

Minori-chan's smile hit me directly and my heart couldn't take it...

Shiki-chan made a small mistake with her position and looked apologetic, grinning at Neru-chan who was in front of her. lol

The choreography where they flutter their palms and the "forward march" part are so much fun...!

When leaving, Tooru-chan, who was at the very back, was walking in a playful way, lifting her legs high and stretching them forward—perhaps conscious of the kicking choreography in Nominee—it was hilarious! lol

While the staff was making announcements, the 1:00 PM fountain show started with cheerful background music. It was quite long, and at the end, the water sprayed out like a rainbow before shooting up high and finishing.

Part 1

Shortly after, the entrance SE played, and the members appeared.

Setlist

The first song was "Raku no Uwanuri" !!
The clapping from Minori-chan's opening vocals felt so good...

Shiki-chan looked happy as she looked up at the second-floor seating and smiled.

During the driving part in the D-melody, she said, "We came by plane this time! Please sway along with us!" and we all boarded the plane together.

The "YA!" from the fans (myself included) after it finished was also perfectly timed and felt great.

The second song was "Suisei" !!
An anthem!!! It was incredibly cool and gave me chills.
I was captivated by Neru-chan's craftsmanship-like dancing, such as the precise movement and pacing of the swaying wave choreography. Combined with her pink hair, she really had the aura of a princess or a celestial maiden.

It's an incredibly cool song, and while they have a serious image when it comes to facial expressions, Shiki-chan and Minori-chan's beaming smiles were so cute. They looked so genuinely happy that it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside too...

Here, they had an MC segment where each member introduced themselves. Tooru-chan asked the members if anyone could say the group name "CYNHN," and said she would pick someone at random, choosing Minori-chan.
It was always Minori-chan who got picked, which felt like a recurring skit and was amusing. lol
She introduced it refreshingly: "It's spelled C-Y-N-H-N and pronounced CYNHN (Sweeny)! We are a vocal group active in Tokyo!"

Shiki-chan looked up at the second floor and the gathered audience, asking, "There are a lot of couples and parents with children! Is there anyone here who is on a first date, or rather, seeing CYNHN for the first time?" I laughed because it sounded like she asked about the first date half on purpose. lol

Then Shiki-chan called out, "Please make it popular at the high school you go to!" and Tooru-chan also called out, "Make it go viral!" which was hilarious. lol

Shiki-chan reacted with a cute high-pitched voice (128db) to an orange gum bag held by a tourist from overseas who was watching from the far left of the audience. lol

Then Tooru-chan suddenly started a criminal investigation to find out who had already tasted Fukuoka's specialties! lol
Minori-chan confessed. lol
She said she ate (Ito King's) Doraking. She said it was delicious because the strawberries were very juicy.
When they asked the audience about Fukuoka specialties, many people mentioned "Mizutaki," but Shiki-chan misheard it as "Pistachio?" which made me laugh! lol

Neru-chan also mentioned that there was a "cheerful fountain" before the live show.

She said this was their second time in Fukuoka, and the first time they've come for a release event.
They announced that tomorrow they will perform at The Voodoo Lounge, where they also performed during their last visit.

The third song was "Tokyo stuck" !!
Just like during "Suisei," I was captivated by Neru-chan's soft arm movements and fingertips.
During the clapping part, Shiki-chan and Neru-chan spread their fingers on both hands and touched only their fingertips together in a cutesy clap, which was adorable...

The last song was "Nominee" !!
The choreography with the clapping and the "mae narae" (forward dress) was fun!! The song was also intense and cool, it was the best...

Part 1 Special Event

The send-off event, 3S, and 2S were held in that order.
For the 2S, the Minori/Tooru line was formed on the left, and the Shiki/Neru line was formed on the right.
During the 2S, it turned 2 PM, and the fountain went off with a cheerful violin version of the BGM. Tooru-chan and Shiki-chan, who were waiting, played around as if they were conducting the fountain musical-style, which was interesting! lol

I took a Lucky Rabbit photo with Neru Tsukumo!
My eyes looked terrible and I was completely unnecessary in the photo, but thank you so much, Neru-chan, for listening so carefully to my story about Space World... The rabbit on your Instagram was also cute...

Part 2

For the second part, I decided to watch from the second floor on the stage right side.

Setlist

(Hyoka and Kirigunia, and the MC were likely in this order, but I'm not confident)

The first song was "Enough Inus" !!
It's cool... Amidst the spicy coolness, Neru-chan's sweet voice feels like the balance between sweet and salty in a snack, which is just right...

The second song was "Kirigunia"!!
The song is super cool, and I really love the finger movements that look like Lelouch from Code Geass using his Geass... It feels like a song that's going for the win, which is great...

The third song was the long-awaited "Hyoka"!!
I was so happy to finally catch it live...!!
I personally think of it as a Neru-chan song, and her sweet whisper voice really touched me...

I thought it was late in the set, but I think this is when the MC happened.
They asked the audience who was there for the first time and who had come from Tokyo or other regions.

They even reacted to someone on the second floor looking things up on their phone, which I thought was very attentive. lol

And Shiki-chan mentioned again that there were a lot of couples in the audience. lol
Tou-chan seemed to understand why there was a large panel of Hawks from "My Hero Academia" at the Jump Shop nearby, realizing it was because there is a professional baseball team in Fukuoka.

They said they ate the Mentaiko French bread from the bakery "Full Full" near Canal City for lunch. It had a huge line and seemed to be delicious.
Since I didn't know it existed, I decided to look for the shop after the event ended. (I shouldn't have eaten at Saizeriya before the second part...)

The final song was "Nominee"!!
The MIX was on point and it was a heated, exciting performance!
I love cool, hype songs, and the fact that it's also a stylish track hits the spot for me...

A young Chinese man watching next to me also said it was amazing. My friend, this is Japanese cool idol culture...

After the show, I searched for the bakery Full Full that they talked about in the MC, and when I found it, I was able to get in easily, perhaps because it was close to 4 PM. The eat-in space was full, so I bought the melon bread that Minori-chan likes and the Mentaiko French bread for takeout.
The Mentaiko French bread, which is their specialty, is ordered at the register, and the staff cut it for me so it would be easier to eat right away.

The Mentaiko French bread was delicious, though it nearly killed my gums and jaw since I have a small mouth. lol The melon bread was also delicious!

In closing

I decided early on that I would go when I heard CYNHN was coming to nearby Fukuoka, but the internet cafe I used last July had closed, and since the Kaikatsu CLUB was also fully booked and I couldn't find a place to stay, I ended up making it a day trip.
I'm writing this on the morning of the next day, and I'm currently on another expedition on a bus to Hakata for the Fukuoka tour, but I'm just grumbling about how expeditions that are subtly close but not quite close are costly and the last train is early too ()

This time it was a release event for the 3rd album INVERSION, and since it's an album that follows the singles released after I got hooked, it was a CD that was already guaranteed to be a masterpiece, so I wanted it no matter what, and I'm glad I was able to go since it was the first release event in Fukuoka.

Neru-chan's hair color was pink and her hairstyle was high twin tails, which was incredibly cute...
Her visuals were really great with a hairstyle like Neru-chan in Nominee... and her neckline is beautiful...

There were songs I had been longing to see live for the first time like Tokyo stuck, Nominee, and Hyoka, and all the others were classic songs I love so much, with no filler tracks (though since I like them all, there aren't any to begin with), so it was truly the best...

I'm looking forward to the Fukuoka tour now! (While enduring motion sickness on the highway bus)
