CHOSHU CALLING (Kinopo.) [Impressions]

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, I attended CHOSHU CALLING at RISING HALL in Yamaguchi Prefecture.

I had errands at my parents' house, so I arrived late, but I was able to catch CLANCROWN.

CLANCROWN had a classic feel, but I thought they were good songs. I later found out it was the group featuring Umeha Nakamoto, formerly of jubilee=jublee! Umeha-chan was absent because she was at her sibling's wedding, but I'd love to see them again... (I really wanted to see acro-A and ELLIC...)

Next up was L.U.R.E!

When I saw them before, it was within a year of their debut and it was a free live show, but even with the members reduced from three to two, it was a masterpiece! The music included trance-like tracks with heavy bass, and I personally felt a sense of Yamaguchi group DNA, like they were the next local group from Yamaguchi after Yamakatsu!

It was their first time performing at a CHOSHU CALLING event, and since it had been a while since the event was held, they mentioned in their MC that they wanted to become a group capable of headlining.

Next up was Kinopo!
When I thought, 'Are they finally coming out?', I looked back and saw the members in the second-floor seating (on the stage left side)!!

The members were a bit surprised that the audience noticed them so quickly, haha.

And instead of coming down the stairs from the second floor and entering the stage from the stage right aisle on the first floor, they actually mixed into the audience and personally guided us, saying, 'Move closer to the front!' haha.

I was happy that Ashita-chan and Kurumi-chan were close to the aisle! And then Kurumi-chan descended near the front row! It reminded me of the climax of a Kuso Iinkai concert where there was a guitar solo in the audience, but it was a blast from the start!

Then the members got on stage and urged us to clap! And the first song was 'Connect'!
The massive sound pressure of RISING HALL felt great right away. The louder the sound, the more it resonates through your whole body, it feels so good...

And from the second song, it was 'emo-emon'!!!
This was about the fourth time I've seen Kinopo., but it was more exciting than ever before!!! It was the best!!! Maybe it was the buff of the sense of security from my hometown, but every cell in my body was rejoicing!!

The third song was 'Uruwashi no Tambourine'.
The unison of the two pairs was incredibly beautiful and impressive. Miko-chan really looks like a shrine maiden, she has such a classic Japanese beauty...

Then Koharu-chan made a 'T' shape with both hands and shouted 'Yamagu-T!' to the floor, leading into 'TEA'!!!
Yamagu-TEA! The sound of the pose and the word is really good! A hot performance connecting Yamaguchi, known as Saikyo, and Kyoto!

In the MC, they first talked about their entrance from the second floor, and then Misato-chan praised us, saying, 'The clapping during 'Connect' was amazing! Yamaguchi is the best!'

Then Koharu-chan said they ate a dish based on Kawara Soba, a Yamaguchi food!
I felt bad because Kawara Soba is actually from around Shimonoseki, so even though I'm a local, I wasn't familiar with that shop... ()
And they said the four of them went to Alaska!
Alaska is a shop in the basement of the shopping arcade! I know that place very well, so I was happy! The basement of the shopping arcade used to have a shop called Inakappe that my mother's side of the family loved, but it closed down, and now only the Indian restaurant and Alaska are left... It's sad that the basement is now just a waiting area for RISING HALL entry ()

And Miko-chan decided that when she came to Tokuyama, she would take lots of pictures of pufferfish, so here was a sudden quiz time!
Now, how many pictures of pufferfish did Miko-chan take?

20! 29! (The members teased her for being so specific) and the numbers went up, but...

The correct answer is...

Only three, lol.

I mean, that's too few lol.
Even the members teased that the quiz was a total failure lol.

However, even as a local, the only spots I can think of to take pictures of blowfish are the area up the escalator from the port side of Tokuyama Station and the Youme Town Kudamatsu store, formerly The Mall Shunan in Kudamatsu City, so I think they actually did a pretty good job. ()

The next block is the second half!
It was so much fun to be able to enjoy Kinopo. songs one after another!

I was happy to hear "Living Dead," a song I've managed to catch a few times!

"Dai Mondai" was also a song I had studied beforehand, so it was a great choice!

I was also super hyped to hear "Sanma"!!

Listening to Sanma in autumn, it was so seasonal and delicious...

In Conclusion

Originally, I wanted to go to the CHOSHU CALLING the day before as my main priority, but I had to give up because it was just barely within the number of days I was feeling unwell. I also had errands to run at my parents' house on the day of the event, so I couldn't participate from the beginning, but I was frustrated because acro-A and ELLIC seemed good... It seems like it will be held again at the end of January, so I'm looking forward to the lineup...!

CHOSHU CALLING was the event where I first saw MAGICAL SPEC, which had been formed for about half a year, when I attended in July 2021, so I was happy it was revived.
Also, I really like idol events at RISING HALL and it's a venue I want to visit at least once a year, so I'm glad I was able to make it just in time this time.
Since it was Kinopo.'s first time coming to Yamaguchi, it was the most fun I've ever had watching them...
