Chasing Spring, Back to Ogaki
Still lingering on the memories of Zeze from the day before, today I set off for Ogaki once again!
Ogaki is quite far, and since we had to leave at 6:00 AM, it was a hectic morning!
There were several transfers, but it was a miracle that I made the 4-minute connection for the train to Maibara at Osaka Station!
So, this is the second Ogaki trip with two companions.
It's a journey aimed at seeing cherry blossoms, but at this point in Osaka, they were barely starting to bloom.
How would they be in Ogaki!

To start, I bought Kinchoen Manju and Uguisu Mochi here, but didn't buy the Mizu Manju.
I should have bought it.

They were selling Mizu Manju outside.
At PAUL, I bought an antique Kutani ware teacup and
a NARUMI plate.

Heading to Ogaki Castle.

Heading off to have lunch.

This time, we made a reservation and had lunch here.

Lunch was 2,500 yen. I thought it might be a bit pricey, but with this quality, it's actually too cheap—the taste would justify double the price.
Delicious, great atmosphere! The tableware is cute too.
As expected of a popular restaurant, it was the right decision to make a reservation. 👍
Asahiya is also nearby, wow, it's just the best.
And, taking advantage of the fact that almost no cars were coming,

Sorry for doing something like this, lol.
I turned it into an image. Lol.
Almost no cars came by.
This is a rather narrow road.
Generally, the roads in Ogaki are wide!
I want you to go and see for yourself. It looks easy to drive.
Now, let's see how the cherry blossoms are!

The cherry blossom festival is in full swing!
There was a market, and they were holding events in front of the city hall.

Cheese Cake Princess, which I enjoyed last time, was completely full, which I figured would be the case.

The cherry blossom festival wasn't overly crowded; it had a nice number of people, mostly locals, I imagine.
When I mentioned at the market area that I had come from Osaka, they were surprised.
It was a cherry blossom festival with a real hidden-gem feel.

Water gushing out steadily.
Scenery with water is so soothing.
Right next to Hachimangu Shrine, in the river,
there were stone pillars you could walk across, and I was so excited!

It's amazing that I could even take a photo like this!
(Sorry, I'm not sharing the photo🙏)
I made a firm vow to come back again next year!
My Ogaki trip.
It was so good that I contacted my eldest daughter.
She and her husband are planning to go ride the tub boats during Golden Week!
Tub boats sound nice too, I have to go again.
Reference
This time I used the "JR West QR 2-day Pass".
It offers unlimited rides on JR lines (local, rapid, and special rapid) in the Kansai area for 2 days.
• Price: 4,000 yen for adults / 2,000 yen for children. Exclusive to the "KANSAI MaaS" app (or website).
I used it!
I used it for two consecutive day trips,
and it's overwhelmingly cheap! Though the fare between Maibara and Ogaki is separate.
I'll definitely use it again.
