Is Generative AI Evolving Too Fast? 3 Points for Learning Without Panic
Lately, when studying generative AI, new tools and features appear one after another, and don't you ever feel anxious, wondering, "Is my current study method really correct?" or "Is this already outdated?"
I myself often feel that after trying out one interesting tool after another, "In the end, I don't feel like I've learned anything at all..."
So, today I have summarized things I want to value when learning generative AI, including for myself .
That said, my desire to learn generative AI remains unchanged. This is because I am convinced that if I can master it, my daily life will become richer!
Three things I want to convey, including to myself!
1. Clarify what you want to do using generative AI!
Even if you know that generative AI is convenient, aren't there many people who, when asked, "What do you actually want to do?", cannot answer immediately?
I myself try to imitate the image generation, music generation, and video generation I see on YouTube, but I feel like I haven't learned anything... That's because it wasn't what I originally wanted to do.
So, what should you do?
The answer I came up with was to clarify the goal of "wanting to enrich my life by using generative AI". Furthermore, I began to want to learn and share information from the same perspective as people who feel, "I want to try using it, but I don't really understand generative AI." To that end, I am challenging myself to "write text," which I have avoided until now, and am sharing information while being supported by generative AI. This note is also one of those efforts.
In this way, I think that by clarifying your own purpose, unnecessary hesitation will decrease and the direction of your learning will be set.
2. Once you have decided what you want to do, proceed at your own pace without rushing
Currently, I am trying out ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, etc., and mainly utilizing ChatGPT.
Having an interest is a good thing in itself, but I think it is important not to try everything, but to firmly master one thing at a time. For that reason, I decided, "First, I will strengthen my writing skills," and I am challenging myself to write while utilizing AI.
By learning at your own pace without rushing, you should be able to eventually acquire it as a practical skill.
3. Are you really okay with that pace?
You might feel anxious, thinking, "The development speed of generative AI is fast, so if I study at my own pace like that, won't I be left behind by the times?"
But if you keep rushing to try new tools, you tend to leave everything halfway done, and as a result, you often fall into a situation where you "didn't become able to do anything..."
What is important is using generative AI to enrich your life. It would be counterproductive to forget that purpose and force yourself to learn, neglecting your daily life and work.
I think that acquiring the skills that are truly necessary is the most effective way to learn in the long term.
Summary
When learning generative AI, it is important to first clarify what you want to do!
Instead of jumping on every new tool, make sure to master them one by one at your own pace!
There is no need to panic about the speed of evolution; the top priority is to reliably acquire the skills you truly need!
Without rushing, let's learn little by little and make the most of generative AI to build a richer life in a way that suits your goals!
