Ferry Boarding ② Y-chan Nov '25
↑ Watching Y-chan disembark in Tokushima.
She has ears on her helmet.
"Oh, th-thank you so much."
She immediately took two photos of the ferry and me.
She's a very outgoing girl with no barriers.
Motorcyclists,
When they're riding, they do things like "Yaeh! ✌!!!"
but I feel like many people instantly go "silent" the moment they get off their bikes,
tending to act as if they are invisible to each other, like nothing is there.
My personal theory is that when they are on their bikes, they have a high-tension persona as a rider, but once they get off, they all have a bit of that "Honda-san from Kochikame" transformation where they instantly revert to being a sensible, ordinary citizen.
Back to the story.
In the midst of that, Y-chan, who appeared bouncing around, is quite a character.
Even though she wasn't on her bike, she maintained her high energy and kept talking to me non-stop.
Thanks to that, I had finished explaining most of my trip before we even boarded the ship.
I was on the Tokyo-Tokushima-Kitakyushu route, and Y-chan was getting off in Tokushima.
Y-chan is doing a solo tour around half of Shikoku.
She had already finished the other half previously, so it was like a pilgrimage-style tour.
Still, doing it alone as a girl is pretty amazing, isn't it? Her bike was a large W800, too. It suited her style very well.
(Oh, wait, I'm alone too. Oh, but I'm an old lady. 😂)
I talked about various things with Y-chan on the ship.
That's when I realized she was an elite with a sharp mind from a completely different world.
She had a PC in her touring bag and was working while on the ship.
Her brain is out in the world, and she even makes time to ride her bike in the countries she visits for work.
America, some country in Africa (I forgot),
Tibet...
I was genuinely surprised that the girl who appeared bouncing around was such a sharp-minded elite.
I said,
"When you become famous, Y-chan, I'm going to tell everyone I know you."
I told her that about three times.
She won't be able to complain when that time comes.
I hope we can meet again somewhere, Y-chan.
That's what I said as I watched her disembark.
