On the Verge of Breaking Point! Post-Meal Strength Training Comes from an Unexpected Direction
■ After a night shift → Matsuya → ChocoZAP
After a night shift. I headed straight to Matsuya, pushed to the limit by hunger.
I ordered the limited-time local gourmet collaboration
“Imabari Yakibuta Tamago Meshi” (Imabari Grilled Pork and Egg Rice)
Sweet and savory pork x runny fried egg x white rice.
It was a punchy meal for my tired body, and the post-meal satisfaction was perfect.
However—
As I headed to ChocoZAP in this “stuffed” state,
a hellish strength training experience was waiting for me.
■ Today's Menu & Incident Report
▼ Leg Press (Lower Body)
105kg (gym max)
100 reps x 2 sets
→ Great pump. Still got more in me.
▼ Shoulder Press (Shoulders)
60kg: 20 reps x 1 set
→ Feeling like I might throw up.
50kg: 21 reps x 1 set
→ Too light. Way too easy.
55kg: 20 reps x 1 set
→ Just right, but feeling like I might throw up again. lol
▼ Lat Pulldown (Back)
90kg → 3 reps
→ Gave up because it felt like it would tear the skin off my hands.
60kg → Same thing.
50kg → Gave up after 5 reps.
→ My palms reached their limit before my grip strength did. I forget my gloves every time, orz
▼ Chest Press (Chest)
85kg (gym max)
20 reps → 15 reps
→ Just as I was about to start the 3rd set,
I was hit with the sensation that I was about to 💩 and had to stop.
■ It's not 'Bling-Bang-Bang-Born'
I didn't think I'd end up “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born”-ing when I wasn't even at karaoke today. lol
It felt like something that shouldn't be born was about to be born.
■ Today's Lesson
Strength training immediately after a full meal is dangerous
Be especially careful with exercises that put pressure on your abdomen
The only thing you should be setting is records. Not that other thing
■ Summary
After a night shift → Matsuya → Full-power strength training.
For some people, this routine could be fatal. Lol
But my body's reaction was honest.
I learned that "my limits" aren't just about weight or repetitions.
Next time, I won't forget to adjust the timing and intensity after eating.
Hopefully, I'll set another "record".
