My Ally
A relationship that ended suddenly one day.
Before I knew it, I was the one being blamed,
and it was decided that I was the one at fault.
Just like that, I lost him.
But, in a fleeting moment, I thought,
perhaps this,
might have been the catalyst for me to break free.
The moment I thought that,
various scenes from the past began to look a little different.
The things that were unreasonable.
The things I couldn't talk back to well.
The words I just silently accepted.
And the fact that the people watching by my side
had been telling me, "I'm on your side."
There were happy times, of course, but
it seems I had been enduring much more than I thought.
The me who couldn't sleep,
the me who couldn't eat,
was here all along.
Once in a while,
maybe it's okay for me to be my own ally.
