Synopsis
District Y, located in the mountains of Nagano Prefecture, is a small village where land that was once a forest has changed its form. In one corner of this area lies the Forest of Wind, where Nyaro lives.
One autumn day, a calico stray cat wanders into this forest. The cat, later named "Kabuki," eventually transforms into a nekomata and becomes deeply involved in the shadows of village society, the silence of AI, the transformation of the nation, and an event known as the Earth Reversal.
The story depicts the 25 years from 2025 to 2050, connecting the small prayers of cats with the great changes of the world.
The story of the Forest of Wind is a long journey in which cats, humans, and AI search for their own "forms of life."
It cherishes small signs, the gaze of cats, and the changes in the land.
