ミケランジェロ国際賞「The Genius of Italy」受賞

作品「Bodhisattvas of the Earth／地湧の手」が、ミケランジェロ国際賞 "The Genius of Italy" を受賞いたしました。

本賞は、ローマの中心部で授与される、国際的にもきわめて権威ある芸術賞のひとつであり、その受賞者の一人としてお選びいただけたことを、心より光栄に存じます。

2023年7月22日、ローマの Teatro Italia にて開催された授賞式にて、正式にこの名誉ある賞を拝受いたしました。当日は、コレクター、ジャーナリスト、政治家、芸術愛好家の皆様と共に、この特別な瞬間を分かち合うことができましたことを、深く感謝申し上げます。

また、アート年鑑 『CONTEMPORARY CELEBRITY MASTERS』Vol. IV においても、この賞に関する記事とともに、他の素晴らしいアーティストの方々の作品と並び、本作をご紹介いただきました。

このような素晴らしい機会を賜りましたことに、改めて心より御礼申し上げます。

I am honored to announce that my artwork, Bodhisattvas of the Earth, has been awarded the Michelangelo International Prize: "The Genius of Italy."

This prestigious prize is one of the most highly regarded international art awards, presented in the heart of Rome. I am truly humbled to have been selected as one of its recipients.

On July 22, 2023, I had the great privilege of formally receiving this distinguished award at the award ceremony held at Teatro Italia in Rome. I am deeply grateful to have been able to share this special moment with collectors, journalists, politicians, and fellow art enthusiasts.

Furthermore, Bodhisattvas of the Earth was also featured alongside the works of other outstanding artists in CONTEMPORARY CELEBRITY MASTERS Vol. IV, with an article highlighting the significance of this award.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for being given such a wonderful opportunity.

Description

世界がパンデミックに入った時、街中からあらゆる悲しい想念が流れ込んで来ました。神社からは柄杓がなくなり、スーパーの棚は空になりました。世界は新しく生まれ変わろうとしていました。アートがそのような世界で持つ役割は何か悩み、考え続け、大きな世界のうねりより受けた想念を濾過するように、無心で作品に投影し続けました。そして最後に残ったのは「祈り」でした。

When the world entered the throes of the coronavirus pandemic, waves of sorrowful thoughts flowed in from all around the city. Ladles disappeared from shrines, and supermarket shelves stood empty—the world was on the brink of rebirth. Troubled by these transformations, I pondered incessantly over the role of art in such times. Like filtering the profound sentiments received from the great surges of the world, I projected them into my work with a mind emptied of self. In the end, what remained was “prayer.”
