今度はViolaよ～ん🎻の巻っ！ Hungarian Rhapsody(21)

♪　9月23日（水）（その２・夜）

♪　夜ジゼルと少し合わせ練習🎻🎹

♪　22時を過ぎてから、またみんなでダンス！💃
（どんだけ踊るの好きなん？　笑）

♪で、その後、こんな遅い時間に、
例のデザート、ショモロイを食べよう！と満場一致！
（え～　またこんな遅くに食べるの？　太るよ～！

→ショモロイは小さくちぎったスポンジケーキ＋ラムレーズン＋砕いたくるみ＋甘くないホイップクリームたっぷり＋チョコレートソース少々　というデザート^^;）

♪　ホテルまでは、学校から徒歩10分くらい。
いつものごとく、ジプシー音楽楽団が演奏している🎻
もうなんだかすっかり顔見知りになってしまったな～。

♪　楽団員の一人、ちょっとニヤケた表情のviola奏者が、
しきりに私のところに来て、ハンガリー語で話しかける。


♪　彼のハンガリー語も、ところどころしかわからない（情けない）。
でも、先日、小さなレストラン、「キシュ・ブガーツィ」でヴァイオリンを渡され、弾いてほしい！という、いきなり展開と、全く同じになった。

♪　viola（これは、ハンガリー語でもドイツ語に似て、brácsa ブラーチョという）


♪　ついに、彼が私に自分の楽器、violaを、手渡し、
私はviolaを引く羽目に（きゃぁぁぁ～！）


♪　今日は　自分の好きなメロディ、ではなく、楽団が演奏しているレパートリーの１曲を初見で弾くことに～！（なんてこった！）



♪　テーブルの学校友人たちは「セツコ、がんばれ！」みたいに応援してくれちゃうし、
他のテーブルのお客さんたちからも「何だ？何が始まるのか？」と　
興味津々の視線！


♪　小さめの楽譜１枚渡されたら・・
これ、ハンガリーの民族音楽じゃあない。

♪　ヴィオラの曲なら（パート譜なら）
C-clef(ハ音記号）　（→　ハ音記号って何？　という方は　リンクで　別ブログ記事みてくださいね～）で書かれているはず・・・

と思いきや、

♪　これは　ふつーに「歌」のパート（Budapest、とかHungaria　など歌詞を一部書き換えてようだが）＋　🎹ピアノ（左右　両手）譜みたい。



♪　どの楽器が　どのパートを担当する、なんていう指示は　一切書かれていない。
楽団メンバーは、相談はしていると思うけど、こういう普通の歌の楽譜を使っても、自分たちの演奏するメロディーなりコードなり、

♪　即興風に演奏しているんだろうな、と直感！

♪　一応、ジェスチャー交えて、楽譜の「どこ？」を弾けばよい？　と尋ねると、どうやら　メインのメロディ（歌のパート）を、ということらしい。



♪　ハハハ、ヴィオラで　ト音記号楽譜の音、メロディを弾くのね。

♪　幸い、私のアタマの中は、いつも「実音（実際に出てくる音）」なので、譜面がト音記号であろうが、ハ音記号、へ音記号であろうが、
楽器の「音域」の中に納まれば、ほぼ大丈夫・・と思う。


♪　それより・・・とにかく　ぶっつけ本番。（きゃ～～！）


♪　譜面台もないので、viola奏者が、私が彼のviolaを弾く間、
譜面台替わりに、ペラっとした楽譜を、私の目の前に掲げてくれた。

♪　5/8拍子のスペイン風というか南米風というか・・　（5拍子、という　ちょっと変わった拍子については、別ブログ記事で　（５拍子、７拍子のこと　詳しく説明しているので　よかったら参考にしてね）



ラテン系の民謡。
violinの人、後ろにいるツィンバロンの人が一緒に演奏してくれた。

（2025年　NHK　大河ドラマ　「べらぼう」冒頭で、日本人ツィンバロン奏者の　斎藤浩さんが　少しだけ　ツィンバロンの音色を聴かせてくれている）

♪　ツィンバロンの音が本当に素敵だった。
ホテルのレストランにはこんな遅い時間でも、
結構たくさんお客さんが食事やワイン飲みなどで来ている。

♪　周りのテーブルの男性が、
私にチップのように、少額のフォリントコインをくれたり、
私たちのテーブルには白ワインのボトル２本！がプレゼントされた。🍾🍾


♪　私はアルコールを飲めないんだけど、
友達が　とても喜んだ。「セツコのおかげでワインがプレゼントされた！」と、皆に感謝されちゃった。（笑）



♪　相変わらず　ちょっとニヤケた顔のviola奏者さんは、
私に　今、即興で弾いたばかりの楽譜と、頬にキスをくれた。


♪　周りのテーブルの旦那さんたちも“It was very nice！”　
珍しく英語を話してくれた。（当時のハンガリーでは、学校の外、ほとんど英語通じなかったので・・）


♪　さあ明日は木曜日。
ありがたいのだけれど、朝はクリーニングの日。


♪　ファスナーでなく、薄い金属製のボタンで開閉する毛布カバーや
枕カバーを朝8時前には自分で　はずして、
自室ドアの外に出しておかなければならない。

♪　だから・・あんまり寝坊はできない。
ああ～もう1:00AM。おやすみなさい　（続く）

Wednesday, September 23 – Continued

♪　That night, I practiced a little with Gisele.
After 10 PM, we all danced again!
(Just how much do we love dancing? laughs)

♪　And then, despite the late hour, we all unanimously decided—
"Let’s have that dessert, Somlói!"
(What?! Eating again this late? We're going to gain weight!)

♪　The hotel was about a 10-minute walk from the school.
As always, the Gypsy band was playing there.
At this point, we had become quite familiar with them.

♪　One of the band members, a viola player with a slightly mischievous smile, kept approaching me and speaking in Hungarian.
I could only understand bits and pieces of what he was saying.
(How frustrating!)

♪　But then—just like the other day at that little restaurant, Kis Bugaci,
when they suddenly handed me a violin and expected me to play—something unexpected happened again.

♪　The viola ＝called brácsa in Hungarian, similar to German)
He finally handed me his instrument, and before I knew it, I was about to play the viola!

♪　But this time, instead of playing a melody of my choice,
I had to sight-read one of the pieces from the band’s repertoire. (Oh no!)

♪　My friends at the table cheered me on—"Setsuko, you got this!"

♪　The other guests at the nearby tables also turned their attention to us, eyes filled with curiosity. (What’s happening? What’s about to start?)

♪　Then, they handed me a small sheet of music.
It wasn’t Hungarian folk music.
It seemed to be some South American, Latin-style piece in a 5/8 rhythm(meter).

♪　But then… wait a second. Viola music is usually written in alto clef (C-clef), right?
But this was written like a vocal part (with some lyrics like "Budapest" and "Hungaria" slightly modified), combined with a piano score (both right and left hand).

♪　There were no indications of which instrument should play which part.
I assumed the band members had discussed it beforehand,
but they seemed to be improvising their melodies and harmonies freely, even using a regular vocal score.

♪　Just to be sure, I gestured and asked, "Which part should I play?"
They pointed to the main melody—the vocal part.

Hahaha. So, I had to play a treble clef melody on the viola!

♪　Fortunately, I always think in terms of actual sound rather than clef notation.
Whether it’s treble, alto, or bass clef, as long as the notes fit within the instrument’s range, I should be fine… I think.

♪　And so—without any rehearsal, I had to play on the spot!

♪　There was no music stand,
so the viola player, whose instrument I was using, held the sheet music up in front of me like a makeshift stand.

♪　The rhythm（meter) —5/8, Spanish- or South American-style…
A Latin folk song.
The violinist and the cimbalom player behind us joined in as well.

♪　The cimbalom’s sound was absolutely beautiful.

♪　Even at this late hour, the hotel restaurant was still quite busy,
with plenty of guests enjoying their meals and wine.

♪　A man from a nearby table handed me a few forint as tips.
  And a waiter brought  2 bottles of white wine to our table.
They were gifts from the guests of the restaurant! 🍾🍾

♪　I don’t drink alcohol, but my friends were pleased.
"Thanks to Setsuko, we got free wine!" they cheered,
expressing their gratitude.

♪　As for the viola player, still sporting his mischievous smile,
he gave me the sheet music I had just played—
along with a kiss on the cheek.

♪　Even the gentlemen at the surrounding tables said in rare English,
"It was very nice!"


♪　I enjoyed this unexpected experience, and felt happy to hear the people around me also enjoyed the music.

♪　Now, tomorrow 、 Thursday.

♪　I’m grateful for the experience, but—
Tomorrow morning is laundry day.

♪　By 8 AM, I have to remove the blanket covers and pillowcases,
which are fastened not with zippers,
but with thin metal buttons,
and leave them outside my door.

♪　So… I can’t sleep in too late.

Oh no—it’s already 1:00 AM!
