[Meta-Reading] From Perfectionism to Completionism: 'The Real Way to Study'
Meta-reading is a learning project where knowledge gained from books is organized in a mind map format to 'meta-ize (=bird's-eye view)'.
The book being meta-ized this time is 'The Real Way to Study: Getting Results at Any Age' by Toshitaka Mochizuki.

This is an introductory book where the author, Mr. Mochizuki, asks, "Are you good at studying?" Based on the reality that many cannot answer "yes" with confidence, he proposes effective learning methods.
The author first encourages a shift from perfectionism to completionism. He states that it is important to avoid becoming unable to act due to pursuing perfection, and instead focus on what is necessary and learn it thoroughly. He also explains the importance of incorporating stimulation to the brain by utilizing visual, auditory, and motor senses, such as through hand-drawn illustrations and reading aloud. He analyzes that this mechanism is also why YouTube is effective for memory retention.
Furthermore, he proposes concrete measures to make learning a habit, such as quantifying goals, setting standards for study volume, strictly adhering to start times, and creating action plans for different situations. He also shares tips for creating a study rhythm, such as improving concentration by setting deadlines.
I tried meta-izing 'The Real Way to Study'
I organized this book in a mind map format using MindMeister so that it can be viewed from a bird's-eye perspective.
