■ Introduction
Before moving on to the results announcement, I would like to reflect on this contest. First of all, thank you very much for your many entries to the "DEVLOX Contest Presented by OPEN HOUSE GROUP"! Also, this contest was held with the sponsorship of Open House Group Co., Ltd. I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude. Thank you very much for your support.
■ Reflection
Now, as a new initiative for this contest, we held it as a "Roblox Comprehensive Contest" that invited entries not only for the game development category, but also for the game design document category and the costume category. We believe this made it a contest that creators whose strengths lie outside of game development, as well as beginners who want to start developing on Roblox, could participate in. In fact, we received submissions for costumes and design documents in addition to games, and I also saw people on social media who were trying their hand at Roblox development for the first time. Furthermore, the announcement for this contest on social media recorded
over 23,000 views! Also, when I had meetings with corporate representatives, there were times when they mentioned, "I saw the contest," and I realized that it had attracted the attention of many people. As for the content of the contest, we dared to set a broad theme of "House" to look forward to the creativity of all the creators. As a result, works that evoke "House" from various angles and perspectives were created in each category, and I was able to fully feel the real thrill of the contest! I am impressed by everyone's creativity every time.
■ Support from Roblox Headquarters
And, believe it or not! It was a sudden surprise, but we were able to get cooperation from Roblox headquarters as well!🎉 Actually, we had been in contact for some time, and they believe that "creators are the heart of Roblox and must be cherished." Also, coupled with the fact that this is a contest being held in Japan, where the number of users is expected to grow, they cooperated with the addition of prizes! So, we will be presenting
official merchandise (T-shirts) as an additional prize to the winners. Thankfully, they told us they would like to cooperate in future events as well, so we would like to liven up the Japanese Roblox scene with their support!
■ Conclusion
DEVLOX will continue to operate the community to support creators and hold various events in the future. From a long-term perspective, we would like to create a world where Roblox can be a job by matching creators with companies and functioning as a game studio. Thank you for your continued support. For the difficult theme of House x Costume, choosing a 'hanten' (traditional Japanese jacket)—something that feels like the polar opposite of digital—was an unexpected and interesting answer!
