About My Work | Adding Color to Communication Through Design
I have recently updated my business cards.
The square business card featured in the thumbnail of this article is my new one!
Since I took stock of my work while creating these cards, I'm going to write about that today.
If you're interested, I would love to hear from you for any work requests!
There may be some overlap with my past self-introduction article, but I would be happy if you could read through to the end.
My profession is a graphic designer.
I shifted to a freelance career when I became pregnant with my child, and thanks to everyone's support, I have now reached my 10th year in this field.
I mainly focus on paper media such as business cards, flyers, and brochures, always keeping “conveying information clearly” in mind during production.
Recently, I have also been receiving more requests to help manage social media accounts.
In addition, I handle a wide range of tasks beyond just design, such as website registration, image asset and manuscript creation, and proofreading.

■ What are my strengths as a designer?
A layout designer who creates “readability”
When I introduce myself as a designer, people often say, “That’s a stylish job,” but I’ve always felt a bit uneasy, thinking, “My work is actually quite different from the ‘stylish’ field.”
What exactly is my strength as a designer? — This was something I had been struggling with for a long time.
In the midst of this, I received concept work from Haruna Oki from Seikatsu Henshushitsu, and she gave me the phrase “A layout designer who creates ‘readability’”, which made me think, “This is exactly it!!”

As mentioned earlier, I have always focused on “conveying information clearly” in my work, but the keyword “readability” that followed really struck a chord with me.
Catching the eye
↓
Getting picked up
↓
Getting read thoroughly
↓
Conveying the appeal of the product or service!
Yes, exactly! This is what I am aiming for!
In fact, advertising materials like flyers are “perishable goods measured in seconds.”
For example, if you find direct mail or flyers in your mailbox at home... sadly, I think many people throw them away immediately without even looking at them.
If they aren't picked up and read, they have almost no value as advertising material.
That is precisely why,
Since you are putting it out into the world, let's make sure as many people as possible read it!
With this mission in mind, I will handle the production by focusing not only on the visual design but also on every single word, so please leave it to me!
You don't need to have a polished manuscript when you make a request.
Please tell me your thoughts, even if it's just a vague idea of what you want to do.
I will provide plenty of suggestions, so let's work together to create advertising materials that your customers will want to read.
I will add color to your communication through design!
