― Let me share a story from my own failures ―


Today, I would like to share a "failure story" I experienced when I first started in sales.
That experience became a major lesson for me and is something I still apply to my work today.

At an event, I met a customer who was interested in coins.
We spoke on the phone later, and they decided to visit our shop in person.

We bonded over our shared hobbies, and the conversation was very enjoyable.
"I'm thinking of buying my first antique coin..."
The customer seemed very curious.

However... unfortunately, we did not reach a contract on that day.

Looking back now, I realize I was still inexperienced and unable to provide an explanation that was easy for the customer to understand.
As the conversation stalled, I felt pathetic...
In the end, it was the customer who said to me,
"I'll come back after I've studied a bit more."
Those words were frustrating, yet I was grateful for them.

From that day on, I began to prepare thoroughly in my own way.
・How can I explain things more clearly with examples?

・What kind of materials would actually be useful?
・What are the anxieties that beginners face?
I thought about these things one by one and refined how I communicate.

Some time later, I was in charge of a different customer.

I explained things carefully and clearly to them, and they said,
"I understand perfectly. I'll take this one."
They purchased it right away.
Not only that, but they also added,

"My fixed-term deposit matures next January, so I'd like you to look for a coin that fits that budget as well."
And so, the next contract was already decided.

How can I make an unknown world understandable?

I believe that by making this my mission and working hard, I achieved these results.
For customers, the world of coins might be a door to the unknown.

Even so, I want to sincerely respond to the feelings of those who have gathered the courage to take that first step.
I will carefully explain why a specific coin is the perfect one for them right now.

When that message truly connects, I believe a relationship of trust that transcends any difficulty begins.
