Wood Deck Construction Diary [Day 1: Demolition]
I have been commissioned to build a wood deck, so I will be summarizing the construction process in a series of posts on note.
This wood deck has
a somewhat unusual, irregular shape, and it is also elevated.

The front side in particular is built quite high, which the owner says is for storing a snowmobile.
That is a unique way to use it, typical of a snowy region!
Actually, this wood deck was originally built by the owner himself as a DIY project.
However, it has aged significantly and is in a state where it could collapse at any moment...
Since the owner is getting older and finding it difficult to do the work himself, I was introduced by an acquaintance
and received this commission.🙏
Thank you very much!
Day 1: First, demolition!
The first day started with demolition work!
Honestly, the level of deterioration was so bad that I was surprised it had held up this long without collapsing...
There were several huge railroad ties lined up in the front, and they were incredibly heavy!

My wife told me, 'It would be terrible if you threw your back out again...', so I asked a friend for help this time.
Thanks to him, we successfully removed the heavy railroad ties!
After that, we proceeded with the demolition quickly and finished the work in about half a day.
There were no injuries, and it was a smooth start.
I made a reel, so please take a look if you'd like.👍

Day 2 will be the delivery of materials and the application of wood preservative!
I will continue to report on the progress, so please look forward to it!
