Tips for logging into Google via ZorinOS Online Accounts
I will introduce how to log in to Google via ZorinOS Online Accounts so that you can access Google Drive directly from the file app.
When I first started using ZorinOS, I was using a Chromebook as my main PC, so I wanted to open Google Drive from the file app just like I did on that. This is the solution I found when I struggled because I couldn't log in via Online Accounts.
Note that once you log in to Google using this method, the login status is maintained even after you shut down or restart ZorinOS, so you do not need to log in every time.
ZorinOS Online Accounts
By logging into Google, you can open Google Drive directly from the file app and perform direct operations, such as copying files to a local folder, without having to open a browser.

When you open "Settings > Online Accounts", as shown above, your already connected Google account will be displayed at the top, and accounts that can be added will be listed below it.
Adding a Google Account
I will delete the already added Google account and show you how to add a Google account.

Click "Google".

Enter the email address for your Google account (main account).

Click "Next".

Enter your password and click "Next".

If you cannot log in
In my case, I had "2-Step Verification" turned on, so I could never log in; the progress bar would just keep moving and it wouldn't proceed.
Therefore, temporarily turn 2-Step Verification off.

Click "Manage your Google Account".

Open "Google Account > Security" and scroll down.

Click "How you sign in to Google" and then "2-Step Verification".

Enter your password and click "Next".

Click "Turn off 2-Step Verification".

Click "Turn off".

Now that you have temporarily disabled (turned off) 2-Step Verification, try logging into Google again from "Settings > Online Accounts", and you should be able to log in.
Tasks after logging in

Click "Next".

Scroll down.

Click "Select All" and scroll down.

Click "Continue".

Click the "X" in the top right to close.

Open Google Drive in the Files app
Now that the Google account has been added, let's try opening Google Drive in the Files app.

If you double-click "My Drive", you can access the contents of your Google Drive directly from the Files app.
★ Remember to turn the 2-step verification process back on.

Summary
This article introduces how to log into Google using ZorinOS Online Accounts and access Google Drive directly from the Files app.
It is simple once you know how, but it took a lot of time and effort to figure it out through repeated research and trial and error.
The motivation behind these experimental trials and errors was the "Utility of Frugality".

I would like to write an article about this.
Initially, I used a Chromebook as my main PC, and for 3DCG apps like DAZ Studio that cannot be used on a Chromebook, I connected to a cloud-based virtual Windows machine called Paperspace via the Chrome browser.
However, since Paperspace is rented by the hour and the costs add up, this is a story of how my "stingy" mindset of wanting to save on expenses sparked a personal innovation.
I would be happy if you could read my next article as well 😃
