Don't you think this vehicle is interesting?
The representative of Dare Mobi is eccentric.
I don't mind being called that.
In fact, if it weren't for that, nothing would have started.
I originally started my business with small mobility vehicles.
Before "mobility issues for the elderly" and "inclusive society" were discussed like they are today, the first thing I thought about was—
How can I spread this small vehicle throughout the city?
That was it.
■ The first thing I thought about was not "performance"
Of course, reality is not that simple.
・How light can the body be?
・How long will the battery last?
・What about legal regulations?
・Durability against rain and wind
・Risk of tipping over
・Maintenance system
More than 10 years ago, small mobility vehicles were still treated like "toys of the future."
But I was different.
This will become social infrastructure.
I was convinced of that.
That is why the first thing I thought about was—
"How can I get people to see it?"
That was it.
■ Why is "seeing" important?
No matter how excellent a mobility vehicle is,
if it is not known, it is the same as not existing.
People feel at ease with "things they have seen before."
People take an interest in "things they see many times."
People stop for "interesting things."
That is why I thought about it.
What would happen if 3D billboards, like those in Dotonbori, drove around the city?
What if a giant fish was riding on top?
What if there was an advertisement standing on the roof?
What if it had a shape different from ordinary cars?
People would turn their heads.
They would take pictures.
They would post them on social media.
They would search for them.
In that moment, viral spread begins with zero advertising costs.
■ The goal was not 'sales'
Many people misunderstand.
'They are doing it to sell.'
That is wrong.
First, get people to know about it.
That was the prerequisite.
A market does not emerge suddenly.
Education is necessary.
Awareness is necessary.
A sense of incongruity is necessary.
I have always thought so.
Small mobility won't spread just by being 'convenient'.
It won't spread without being 'fun'.
That is why I made it a promotional car.
That is why I put a 3D billboard on it.
That is why I gave it an unusual design.
■ It's fine to be called eccentric
'What are you doing?'
'Are you serious?'
'This won't sell, will it?'
I was told this many times.
But I knew.
When society changes,
it is always laughed at in the beginning.
Electric kick scooters were the same.
Smartphones were the same.
i-mode was also met with skepticism at first.
New things always begin with a sense of "unease."
■ The barriers of weight reduction and batteries
Just being fun wasn't enough.
・Reducing vehicle weight
・Extending cruising range
・The potential of swappable batteries
・Center of gravity balance when carrying advertisements
Adding advertisements makes it heavier.
Heavier weight drains the battery faster.
Reduced battery life lowers practicality.
It was a battle between ideals and reality.
But this struggle is exactly what
led to the current philosophy of Dare-Mobi.
■ Conditions for the spread of small mobility
I have been thinking about this for a long time.
What is needed for small mobility to spread in society?
Standing out
Being fun
Being safe
Being a sustainable business model
Connecting with the local community
It cannot just be a vehicle.
It must become an **"experience."**
■ The revolution of a moving billboard
What happens if a billboard moves?
Fixed advertising is "passive" advertising.
Moving advertising is "proactive" advertising.
And what if it were
a vehicle used by the elderly, children, and tourists?
The city will change.
Transportation will become entertainment.
Advertising will become conversation.
Vehicles will become media.
For over ten years,
I have been seeing this future.
■ But that alone was not enough
At one point, I realized.
Just being "eye-catching" is not enough.
Unless it connects to social issues,
it will end as a passing fad.
That is what gave birth to—
The Dare-Mobi Philosophy
Anyone can move.
Anyone can participate.
Anyone can drive the economy.
Advertising, tourism, and nursing care,
everything starts with "movement."
■ Why can I share this now?
It was too early back then.
But now it is different.
・Increase in license surrenders
・Aging society
・Transportation issues in tourist areas
・Environmental issues
・Spread of electric mobility
The times have caught up.
That eccentric advertising car
was not just an experiment.
It was a prototype for future social implementation.
■ Small vehicles will change the city
I want you to imagine.
Small mobility vehicles running through a shopping street.
Local advertisements on the roof.
Supported by local businesses.
Elderly people going out for shopping.
Tourists taking photos with smiles.
That is not a society of exclusion.
It is a society of coexistence.
■ It starts with "seeing" at first
People
see,
are surprised,
get interested,
research,
experience,
and finally purchase.
That is why I keep saying it.
First, get them to see it.
That is the first step to creating a market.
■ And now
I can finally say it.
The time has finally come when the experience from that time
can be conveyed to society.
Small mobility is
not a toy.
It is not the future either.
It is an infrastructure needed right now.
■ The eccentric are looking at the future
If you stay within common sense,
nothing will change.
I will continue to
be eccentric.
Because—
I truly believe that
small vehicles
will change our big society.
