The One Thing You Must Never Get Wrong About the Dare-Mobi Project
When I talk about the Dare-Mobi project, I often say this.
・For the elderly
・For people with disabilities
・For children
・For tourists
・For local shops
・For small businesses
But, in truth, that is not the case.
It is for you.
To put it another way,
it is for the future you.
Life is not a straight line.
People are born, grow up, mature, work, love, take on challenges, and eventually grow old.
But that is not a story where you climb stairs one step at a time like in a textbook.
One day, suddenly,
you might have an accident.
you might get sick.
you might lose a family member.
you might lose your job.
The stairs that were going smoothly
can suddenly collapse.
I have collapsed many times.
Not just once or twice.
I have collapsed dozens of times.
I have been denied by people I trusted,
had my vision laughed at,
been told it was impossible,
been dismissed as having no synergy,
and even been treated like trash.
But every time, I think to myself.
Why is the fundamental act of moving
treated so lightly?
Dare-Mobi is not for the 'vulnerable'
This is the one thing you must never get wrong.
Dare-Mobi is
not a project for 'weak people'.
The elderly, people with disabilities, children, and tourists
are not vulnerable.
It is just that their 'movement speed' at that moment is different, that is all.
There are people who can walk fast, and
there are people who can only move slowly.
But what about society?
It is built to accommodate those who are fast.
It is designed for those who do not stop.
It assumes people do not fall.
Is that truly correct?
A society that respects differences in speed
The core of the Dare-Mobi philosophy lies here.
To create a society that respects the speed of movement.
Being fast does not make one superior.
Being slow does not make one inferior.
Everyone, at some point,
will inevitably experience a change in speed.
Right now, while you are young and healthy,
you might be able to run.
But what about 10 or 20 years from now?
Accidents, illnesses, caring for family, mental health struggles.
In life, the stairs can collapse at any time.
Only then do you realize:
"Was that system meant for me?"
The elderly? No, it is your future self.
A system to support the elderly?
No.
It is a system to support your future self.
A society for people with disabilities?
No.
This is a society for yourself, who might become hemiplegic tomorrow.
Safe mobility for children?
No.
It is the future of your grandchildren, your children, and your family.
Tourist circulation?
No.
It is the future of your business.
Support for local shops?
No.
It is the sustainability of your work.
Design life on the premise that it will collapse
Japanese society is still built on the premise that it will not collapse.
・The premise of being healthy and able to work
・The premise of being supported by family
・The premise of being able to walk
・The premise of having money
But reality is different.
It collapses.
Suddenly, it collapses.
I can say this precisely because I have collapsed many times.
When you collapse,
the fact that you "cannot move"
instantly strips away human dignity.
You cannot go where you want to go.
You cannot meet the people you want to meet.
Even if you want to work, you cannot get there.
That is the feeling of being cut off from society,
even while you are still alive.
Dare-Mobi is an 'infrastructure of dignity'
Dare-Mobi is not about transportation equipment.
It is an
infrastructure of dignity.
A transportation revolution starting at 250,000 yen?
You might think it's ridiculous.
But I want you to think about it.
Rather than building massive structures,
rather than spending massive budgets,
a mechanism that creates small cycles in the towns we have now, for the people we have now.
That is Dare-Mobi.
・Cafes become Dare-Spots
・Shopping streets become walkable
・Hotels become mobility hubs
・The elderly become guides
Points become lines,
lines become surfaces,
and the region begins to circulate.
Small-scale businesses are the true protagonists
You must not get this wrong either.
It is not CSR for large corporations.
It is not a massive national policy either.
The protagonists are small-scale businesses.
Cafes with five or fewer employees.
Family-run inns.
Local factories.
General stores.
Why?
Because those are the people
who truly know the region.
Dare-Mobi is also
a philosophy for competing with AI.
AI increases efficiency.
But movement is analog.
People move.
People meet.
People buy.
If people are gone,
the economy will not function.
I have collapsed many times.
I was denied,
laughed at,
told I had no affinity,
and told it was a pipe dream.
But I will not give up.
Because,
before this is a business model,
it is a question of how to live.
I want to pursue what I want to do.
That is not self-satisfaction.
Because I am a person who has collapsed, I understand,
and I want to solve the "pain of being unable to move"
through social structure.
DareMobi is your story.
This philosophy is not mine.
It is your story.
You, too,
will one day change speed.
You, too,
will one day have your stairs collapse.
But at that time,
"This society will not abandon me."
I am building a system now
that allows you to think that.
That is DareMobi.
Finally,
DareMobi is not about kindness.
It is rationality.
DareMobi is not about emotional arguments.
It is future forecasting.
DareMobi is not welfare.
It is social design.
For the elderly?
For people with disabilities?
For children?
No.
It is for you.
And,
it is for the you of a future yet to be seen.
I will stand up no matter how many times I collapse.
Because,
this philosophy,
protects someone's dignity.
DareMobi is,
not a story about mobility.
It is a story about human dignity.
And that,
is a story about you,
who is reading this text right now.
