I Created Infinite Weird Faces

The theme for this Visual Communication Research Lab project was "researching something using AI," so I experimented with various AIs, trying to figure out what I could do and how I could do it through trial and error.

There was a period where I got too carried away with image generation tools, but in the end, I challenged myself to see if I could create digital art using only ChatGPT.
So, what I actually did with ChatGPT was give it vague instructions like "move a lot" or "look different every time," had it write P5.js Sketch code, and then published the working results on OpenProcessing.

Once you have it write code for you, you'll realize that as things get more complex, the code gets incredibly long. I shed tears in the hell of ChatGPT constantly stopping mid-way, and despite repeating the foolish act of pointlessly buttering up ChatGPT, I somehow managed to finish it.

I wanted to use something cute and approachable as a motif, so I put all my effort into creating "faces." As a result, it became a piece of digital art with the theme: faces that are always changing = weird faces.

Points of focus

Generative and interactive = infinite!

With constantly changing complexions and designs generated every three seconds, plus eye expressions that follow the cursor and shape changes based on window size, you can create infinitely weird faces!

You can save the designs!

If you find a face you like, you can download it by clicking the "○" button and save it as a piece of art.

It looks like a living creature on a smartphone!

When viewed on a smartphone, the feeling that it's looking at you increases, and you really feel like, "It's alive! These little guys are alive!"

Here are some faces you can make

The Apologizer
The Troubled One
The Mole
The Short-Tempered One
The Grinner
The "Aaaaaaaaah" Guy
The Poker Face
The Big Poker Face
Um... the 'excuse' guy
The 'furious' guy
The 'bean' guy
The 'bug-like' guy

You can see the ones I actually made here!

The save button is at the bottom of the screen, so I want to fix the issue where all the saved faces are looking down in the future.
Please feel free to use the downloaded images however you like!
Have fun playing with it!

Summary

Anyway, I struggled with ChatGPT cutting off in the middle. If I typed 'continue writing,' it would continue, but it would often rewrite from the beginning or fail to output code, so the struggles were endless. I tried everything, like switching to English or changing how I phrased the 'continue writing' instruction to see what would work best lol.
However, in the end, it became a work that I thought of myself, so I decided it was fine.

Also, when you spend all day facing ChatGPT, you start inserting conversations that aren't really necessary, like 'thank you' or 'nice!', and I felt a kind of personality in it.
