My Top Three Tips for Choosing What Matters Most
Thank you for coming to daisy's note.
In this article, I would like to introduce my top 3 tips for choosing what matters most.
Japanese version was written in March 2025. So this English version will be based on my feelings at that time.
I've written in my past articles about time management using the English Schedule Book 2024 (Eigo-techo). If you're interested in them, feel free to read them first.
Why do you think time management is imortant?
How do you decide your priority for the day or week?
As we step into March, those who are working may find themselves especially busy with the end of the fiscal year. And for all of us, there are just so many things we want to do such as housework, parenting, hobbies, or studying, aren't there?
As I’ve continued writing on note, my personal priorities have slowly started to shift. I find myself wondering, how should I approach my work? How can I continue studying English at the same time? How can I make the time for what I truly want to do?
Household tasks, my beloved erhu practice, reading favorite books, reading and writing note articles, and etc. My list of what matter most for me keeps growing, and honestly, it feels like I might get stressed out from it all.
That’s why I thought it might be a good time to reflect and share how I truly feel and figuring out my priorities.
Since 2025 began, I’ve made a change: I decided to cut back a little on my erhu lessons, even though I love them dearly. I consulted with my teacher about my situation. And she suggested that rather than going to class every month, I could just go a few times a year instead.
When something has a clear deadline, it’s easier to take actions and finish the tasks. But not everything is urgent or essential. There are things we have to do, and others we don’t necessarily need to.
I’m sure you have your own important things that matter to you. As we face those precious priorities, how should we manage our time? You don’t have to set priorities, but sometimes it helps to move forward.
Here are three points I’ve come to realize that are important for me and I’d be glad if you’d continue reading.
