Kouta: 'Flowers of the Floating World'
'Flowers of the Floating World' by Hayashi Kano
Drifting, drifting away~
What of it~
I have become a spirit without ties
Before I knew it~
Before I knew it,
A ghost in a white shroud~
Dialogue: 'Excuse me, you young one there?'
Beckoning with a pale hand, swaying to and fro!
Interjection: 'Clap, clap' sound of a folding fan
Dialogue: 'What is it? Do you have business with me?'
There are many things in this world~
Loving and being loved~
Rejecting and being rejected~
Dialogue: 'My dear, won't you take me as your wife?'
Why~ with a ghost like this~
Who~ who would ever become a married couple
Soaking my sleeves with tears of sorrow
Dialogue: 'You, you have no feet.'
The ghost, cornered by the question~
Dialogue: 'Oh, oh, oh...'
Hiding her face and collapsing in tears
The ins and outs of the double suicide~
The rope that bound our wrists came undone
Once undone, it turned to foam
The bond also came undone, like a jellyfish in the water
Struggling~ though I tried to struggle~
Those who drown cannot be saved
Ah~ ah~ that person~
Is alive in this world, having children
Flirting and having children
While I sway at the bottom of the water
Frustrated and frustrated~
Resentful and resentful~
Unable to go to the next world, I wander aimlessly
Through willow alleys and back alleys
Ending up as a flower of the floating world
Under the willow tree~ hunting for men~
Beckoning, beckoning~ with a wave of my hand
Dialogue: 'You there, don't you want a ghost?'
