[Time Passes]

Indy grew up in Osaka, showered with deep, heartfelt affection.

Grandma Yoshi: "You really are a mysterious child. Look at you. Even though I've gotten so old, you're still so smart and look as young as ever. My, how long is a dog's lifespan again?"

However, one night.

Grandma Yoshi catches Indy secretly communicating with Alex.

Grandma Yoshi: "...You have your own circumstances, don't you?" Even so, Grandma Yoshi chose not to pry into Indy's secret.

[Confession] Time continued to pass, and changes began to appear in Grandma Yoshi's health. By her side, Indy watched over her intently.

Grandma Yoshi: "Indy, listen closely. I don't have much time left. Actually, I'd noticed a while ago. I'm sorry for keeping quiet. ...You have an important mission, don't you? Is it really okay for you to be with me?" Indy couldn't hold it back anymore and spoke in human words. Indy: "Grandma!" Grandma Yoshi: "There, there. You don't have to hold it in. You can say whatever you want to say." Indy: "Grandma... you knew? I'm sorry." Grandma Yoshi: "Yes, yes. I'm truly happy to hear your voice. Besides, being with you, every day was so much fun." Indy: "Grandma, actually..." Indy hesitated. Grandma Yoshi: "I know. You don't have to say it all." Indy: "Grandma!" Grandma Yoshi: "I've saved up a little money under my pillow. You'll know how to use it, right? Don't worry about me at all. Go on, take it." Indy cried out loud like a dog. Indy: "Grandma... I'm sorry. Thank you. Thank you..."

[Welcome Home] Indy sets off for Yokohama alone—or rather, as one dog.

About a month later.

Indy finally reaches Yokohama. He collapses and sits down in front of Taro's house. Just then, 23-year-old Taro happens to pass by. Taro: "Are you a stray dog? You're hungry, aren't you? Wait a second." Indy: "...Woof." Taro: "Haha. Stay there." Taro goes into the house and returns with a piece of beef jerky and some milk. Taro: "Here, eat up." Indy starts eating ravenously. Taro: "You're a beagle, huh... Come to think of it, something like this happened a long time ago. ...That puppy from back then, I think it went to Osaka." Perhaps feeling relieved, Indy starts to doze off. Taro: "A dog's lifespan is about fifteen years, right? If so, it's probably not around anymore. ...Still, this one is so relaxed, just like this is its own home."

Taro gently picks up the dozing Indy.

Taro: "Mom. I want to keep this dog. I'll take full responsibility for it." Yukiko: "You're an adult now, aren't you? If you're going to take responsibility yourself, I won't say anything."

Indy closed his eyes in Taro's arms and wagged his tail slightly.

Welcome back, Indy.
