I am currently in Okinawa.
I think it was around September.
For some reason, I suddenly felt
“I want to go to Kudaka Island”and my heart was moved.
Kudaka Island is said to be the place where Amamikiyo, the god of Ryukyu creation, first descended, making it a particularly sacred island even within Okinawa.Wrapped in quiet seas and the presence of prayer,
it is also said that only those who are “called” can ever reach it.
Following that feeling, I messaged two friends who came to mind on LINE, and they immediately replied, “I’m in!” and “Let’s go!”...
Seeing their replies, I felt truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Friends who straightforwardly accept a simple message like that.
I was filled with gratitude for my connection with them both.
After that, we decided on our accommodation over Zoom and discussed the restaurants we wanted to visit.
It felt like it was still a long way off, but before I knew it, today had arrived.
I came from Haneda.
My friends came from Nagoya and Oita.
Leaving our respective homes, this is a three-woman trip meeting up in Okinawa.
We haven't made many detailed plans,
and there is only one main purpose for this trip—to go to Kudaka Island.
“An island you can't enter unless you are called,”so I don't know yet if we will really be able to cross over...
The weather during our stay looks good, so I plan to first enjoy the air of Okinawa to the fullest and refresh myself.
I don't know if I'll be able to update my note during the trip, but I hope to take photos, jot down the scenery that stays in my heart, and leave a record of this trip in an article.
As an aside...
I love riding on airplanes, and when I have a flight where I can see Mount Fuji, I always book a window seat on that side. Haha
The clouds were thick today, but I was able to capture a beautiful shot.
