Thank you so very much.

Please let me introduce the membership in more detail in a separate article.

・Introduction

Do you go to Saizeriya often?

It is by far the most popular Italian restaurant chain among people of all ages, isn't it?

The food is delicious at an affordable price, of course.

Furthermore, the store operations are smooth, and I'm often surprised at how quickly I'm seated even when waiting. lol

On New Year's Day, I went to drink at Saizeriya with keita from the Sauna Club.

This time, I will introduce how to enjoy wine at Saizeriya with some real-life examples.

・What kind of wine is Saizeriya's wine?

First of all, you will be surprised by the overwhelming cost-performance of Saizeriya's house wine.

You can drink it from 100 yen including tax per glass, and it feels even more like a bargain when you increase the amount with a decanter.

Doesn't it being so cheap actually make you feel a bit uneasy?

Before I started studying to be a sommelier, I definitely would have thought, "It can't be good if it's this cheap, right?" Haha.

The grape varieties used are Trebbiano for the white and Montepulciano for the red.

It is a fresh type of wine that is best enjoyed shortly after production.

It becomes ready to drink three months after harvest and production, and is consumed within two months of being shipped to Japan. It's an astonishing six-month cycle.

In other words, it's like being able to drink nouveau (new wine) all the time.

Furthermore, it is produced in the Molise region of central Italy. I was very surprised when I learned the production region after having studied wine.

This is because wines from the Molise region are considered minor in the world of Italian wine. I apologize if anyone disagrees.

Until I knew this fact, I had thought, "If it's good value for money in Italy, maybe it's from Sicily or the south?"

This is just my speculation, but I think Saizeriya chose the Molise region because it was minor and hadn't been infiltrated by large capital.

Their commitment to low prices and high quality is described on the official page below.

・How to enjoy white wine

The Trebbiano white wine is characterized by its refreshing and sharp acidity.

Here are the dishes I paired it with this time.

Every dish really went well with the wine. I truly felt that this wine was made for Saizeriya's food.

A hidden gem of a pairing is the peperoncino. Without the soft-boiled egg.

I take my hat off to Mr. Keita for his "When you take off your glasses..." description; it was so expressive. Haha.

As expected, dry Italian white wine and garlic are a classic pairing.

・How to enjoy red wine

The red Montepulciano is a well-balanced wine with mild tannins.

Its body is on the lighter side of medium, making it versatile for food pairing.

Here are the dishes I paired it with.

You can pair pasta with white wine, but with cooked shrimp and aurora sauce, a light red also goes very well.

What was impressive here was that Keita-san said, 'I don't think I could eat the arrosticini on its own because of its distinct smell, but it's delicious when eaten with red wine!'

This is the interesting part about wine; sometimes your impression of a food you dislike can change completely when eaten with wine.

Perhaps your impression of foods you dislike might also change if you eat them with wine.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. lol

・What about a digestif to finish?

Believe it or not, Saizeriya even offers digestifs.

Lacrima is a sweet wine made using the appassimento (air-dried) method.

It should pair well with almost all of Saizeriya's desserts.

Grappa is a distilled spirit made from the pomace left over from winemaking, with an alcohol content of 40%. It's a small amount, so it should be fine, probably. sweat

My recommended way to enjoy this is to take a bite of Italian gelato, then have the grappa, followed by an espresso—it's the best.

However, both were sold out on the day. I'll try again next time. lol

・In conclusion

What did you think?

This time, I introduced how to enjoy wine at Saizeriya.

Even after eating and drinking all this, the bill was less than 3,000 yen per person.

It was Keita's first time drinking at Saizeriya, and he really liked it.

Sharing and empathizing with the excitement of wine deepens our bonds.

Wine is not just an alcoholic beverage. It is something that can connect people and create smiles.

Thank you for reading until the end.
