Making a Torso for Dolls
I was thinking about making a short movie,
and I thought it might be good to have a torso as well,
so I decided to make one.
Commercially available ones only have standard shapes,
…so it looks like I have no choice but to make it myself...
I bent a rod,
and decided to make it by combining it with 3D printed parts.
Even though the shape is simple,
it actually had to be designed quite carefully,
and because I was getting ahead of myself,
I made some silly mistakes,
which took up a lot of time💦
The torso stand,
this is the part where the rod is inserted into the floor base,
at first I thought it would be fine to just insert it from the top,
but I was worried about it spinning around too easily,
and if I were to somehow turn it into a product by chance,
I would also have to consider shipping and assembly,
so I settled on the current design where it is inserted from the back of the stand.

I bent a Φ6 stainless steel rod,
and after inserting it, I went "Oops!"

I completely forgot about the radius (the arc when bent) of the bent rod,
and I had made the stand without taking this into account😓
I could just change the design of the stand parts and print them again,
but I couldn't bear to just throw away the parts I had already printed💦
So,
I decided to make it an acute angle.

And so, I was finally able to make it.

Forgetting the bending radius,
even such a basic thing,
I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't actually worked with my hands...
that's how much I was getting ahead of myself💦
but failure is the food for the next creation,
that's why I just can't stop making things ( *´艸`)
The blue material is the same as a surfboard core,
and can be easily shaped into whatever I want with a cutter or sandpaper.
Next is shaping the torso⁽٩(๑˃̶͈̀ ᗨ ˂̶͈́)۶⁾⁾
