Kawasakiz900RS
Every day, I am made to listen to the engine sounds of various motorcycle models. Yes.
Listening to that, I remembered, 'Oh, I wanted to ride a Zephyr back in the day.'
That large Kawasaki motorcycle.
Why is the Z900RS so popular?
The reason it continues to be loved long after its release. Motorcycles have a charm that cannot be described by just 'fast,' 'cheap,' or 'fuel-efficient.' The Kawasaki Z900RS can be called the prime example of this. Even years after its release, it remains so popular that used prices stay high, and there are times when new bikes are hard to get. Why does it attract so many riders? 1. A design that makes you think 'cool' the moment you see it. The biggest appeal of the Z900RS is, after all, its appearance. While it inherits the DNA of the legendary '900 Super4 (Z1)' that appeared in 1972, it is by no means a simple reproduction of an old bike. While incorporating LED lights and a modern frame, it is finished with a design that anyone can recognize as a 'Z,' such as the round headlight, teardrop tank, and tail cowl. It is not 'old,' but a 'timeless, beautiful design.' That is why it is supported by people in their 20s and 60s alike. 2. The sound of the 4-cylinder engine is irresistible. Recently, due to environmental performance and cost reasons, large motorcycles with 2-cylinder engines are increasing. Of course, 2-cylinder engines have power. But 4-cylinder engines have a sound that only a 4-cylinder can produce. It resonates low at idle, and when you open the throttle, it stretches out into a high-pitched wail. 'I ride because I want to hear this sound.' There are many such riders. Sound is also a major part of the Z900RS's product value. 3. It values 'pleasure' over speed. It does not have 200 horsepower like a super sports bike. It is not a bike that competes for top speed. However, whether in the city, on mountain passes, or on the highway, it is simply a pleasure to ride. It has torque from low RPMs and does not feel jerky. Not 'speed,' but 'fun.' That is the essence of the Z900RS. 4. It appeals to a wide range of generations. For those over 50, 'It reminds me of the Z1 I admired when I was young.' For those in their 20s and 30s, 'I didn't know there was such a stylish large motorcycle.' The perspective differs by generation. Even so, the desire to 'ride it' is the same. It is not rare to see parents and children riding the Z900RS. There are not many motorcycles loved across generations like this. 5. Customizing is fun. It is cool enough as a stock bike. Even so, there is the joy of creating your own unique machine with parts like: * Mufflers * Seats * Handlebars * Wheels * Bikini cowls, etc. Custom bikes from all over the world are posted on social media, and just looking at them is never boring. A 'bike with no final form.' That is why you can stay with it for a long time. 6. High satisfaction in ownership. A motorcycle is not just a means of transportation. It is a hobby and a partner. Looking at it while drinking coffee in the garage. Starting the engine on a holiday morning. Even the time spent polishing it is fun. The Z900RS lets you enjoy not only the 'time spent riding' but also the 'time spent owning.' 7. High resale value. Because it is a popular model, its value does not easily drop in the used market. Of course, market prices fluctuate, but the peace of mind that 'it is hard for the price to collapse even if you buy it and ride it for a few years' is significant. It is attractive both as a hobby and in terms of asset value. The Z900RS is a motorcycle chosen by 'sensibility.' If you look only at the specs, there are faster bikes. There are lighter bikes. There are cheaper bikes. Even so, the reason the Z900RS is chosen cannot be explained by numbers. It is a joy to look at. It is a joy to hear the sound. It is a joy to ride. When you get off and look back, you want to see it again. It is that kind of machine. In an era that cannot be satisfied by convenience and efficiency alone, 'bikes that move the heart' are in demand. The Z900RS may be one of the few existences that continues to meet those expectations.
