Ossan's Extra Edition 2: The Kanreki Live
After the first festival ended,
I didn't feel like touching my guitar for a while,
I was kind of suffering from burnout...
Our producer, Wall,
told Hosshi and me to do a Kanreki (60th birthday) live show together,
but I just couldn't get into the mood for it lol
Just then,
I got an email from my son.
{Dad! Happy Birthday!
You're 60 now,
I want to celebrate, so let's go out for a meal!
Let me treat you!}
What a happy email❣️
I'll gladly let him treat me lol

My favorite Italian restaurant,
which my son and daughter had reserved for me.
At this time, I started talking to my children
about the Kanreki live show.
When my son was in elementary school,
he went to piano lessons reluctantly.
From junior high, he played basketball.
From then until he started working,
he didn't touch the piano at all.
For some reason, he started again last year.
He even performed at a recital recently.
"Would you like to do the Kanreki live show with me?"
I thought he'd refuse, but I asked anyway.
"Sure, I'll do it! Are you sure? I'll do it!"
An unexpected reply...
I asked my daughter too.
"Do you want to sing to your brother's piano?"
"Sure! I'll sing!"
Oh my,
I wonder who they take after lol
They didn't hesitate at all lol
So that's how it happened,
and the Kanreki live show I had no motivation for
suddenly became something I was eager to do lol

And so,
a 60th birthday live concert held by me and my peer Hosshi
Near my shop,
at a small live music bar,
we modestly
held it as a Kanreki Live.
Collaborating with my son on piano,
our first performance together as father and son.
My son was a bit nervous,
but my daughter, whether she has nerves of steel or is just thick-skinned,
sang without any nervousness at all, very confidently lol
With Hosshi,
we had a cool session
with twin guitars.
The Masked Man couldn't make it due to a scheduling conflict.
Bee-san made a guest appearance.
The dress code was,
in honor of the 60th birthday,
to come wearing something red.
Oh, that's right!
The Candies' song 'Toshita no Otokonoko' (Younger Boy),
the Sisters planned it,
and they made me, the '60-year-old boy,' dance to it—
that was super embarrassing—

Oh right, around this time,
Hosshi was just about to start
managing a live music studio.
It was a side business of sorts,
while still managing his main business,
a workplace for his later years,
Hosshi wanted to run a shop with music and alcohol.
He successfully opened it that year,
and we had the after-party at the studio before it officially opened.
This studio of Hosshi's
became the home base for the Ossan's,
leading up to the present day.
That studio of Hosshi's
would open shortly after this,
and for the opening live show,
Little Bits actually came to perform,
which is another great memory.
In this way, starting with the Ossan's,
people connect with each other through music,
and a warm, wonderful community
continues to grow...
In any case,
it was a very warm,
love-filled
Kanreki Live.
