Even Though I Was Holding Back

Suika Game, do you know it?

It's that game where characters with fluffy, round eyes carry fruits from the top of the screen.

You drop the carried fruits into the desired spots. When the same fruits touch, they evolve into the next larger fruit. It's that thing that is currently very popular among elementary school students, where you try to make a big watermelon at the end.

I had been hearing rumors about Suika Game here and there since last year.

Including the fact that you can enjoy it for just a few hundred yen.

The kids were also saying, I want to play it!!

"Because it's only about 200 yen, right?!"

But I didn't buy it.

Because it's dangerous.

Who is it dangerous for, you ask...?

Me!!

I'm a gaming geek, so if I get hooked, I'll only think about that.

I'll end up playing the game in my head.

If I download Suika Game, that music is bound to keep playing in my head.

Once I start, I know I won't be able to stop.

That's why we absolutely will not buy a PlayStation 5 in our house.

Even though I want one!!

I mean, I want to buy one with the money from my book, but!!

My heart is shaken every day by the commercials I see, but!!

I can see myself abandoning housework and childcare to play nothing but Final Fantasy the moment I buy it...

And yet!!

The other day, on a whim, Iclickedit.

Suika Game, that is...

No, no, it's just dropping fruit to make a watermelon, so it should be over quickly, right?

It's so simple, so it shouldn't take that much time, right?

I want to tell myself, who recalled the game rules I heard from my child and pressed the button with such naive thoughts!!

Stop!! You'll regret it!!

But, I pressed it...

I launch the app right away.

Along with some upbeat music, an infinite loop of fruit greets me.

...I don't really remember what happened after that.

Before I knew it, it was the middle of the night...!!

The terrifying swamp of fruit!

I hope you can hold back until the end.
