Station Staff Assistance That Always Puts Me at Ease: A Monthly Story About the Toei Oedo Line
A monthly subway trip. I only ask for station staff assistance on the way back.
When I asked at the window, I heard the same thing as last month: "The station master will be here right away." (I wrote an article about last month's experience, too.)
Is the station staff member assisting me at this station really the "station master"?!
Soon, a young man with a voice and build just like last month's staff member came out and took me to the platform.
And when we reached the platform, he said, "There's a pillar here, so please wait. I'll go call the other station." He stepped away for a moment, and as soon as he returned, he said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! This was the platform for the opposite direction," and we headed to the platform across the way.
H-h-how cute! Haha.
So even station staff—or maybe the station master (?)—can make mistakes like that!
This station master not only provides kind and polite guidance, but just like last month, today while we were waiting for the train on the platform, he quietly but casually struck up a reassuring, lighthearted conversation, saying things like, "It's gotten hot, hasn't it?"
Thanks to him, I can ask for assistance with peace of mind. Thank you so much.
