[Weekly SS] The Countdown Pulse

The first to notice were the paramedics. The heart monitors were all ticking at the same tempo for every patient. Despite differences in age and symptoms, their pulses were perfectly aligned.

Then, people all over the world realized it. Humanity's pulse was synchronizing. Babies and the elderly, those sleeping and those running. Everyone was beating their hearts at the same tempo.

"The world has become one!!" People rejoiced.

However, the tempo was gradually slowing down.

At first, it was 72 beats per minute. Then 70. 68. 66.

Doctors issued warnings, but no one could stop it. The tempo was steadily decreasing, just like a countdown.

And then, on XX/XX/XXXX

The pulse hit zero, and silence enveloped the world.

The moment they thought that,
