I will probably never forget our chaotic bath time
For my Golden Week, I went to Kagawa Prefecture with my family.
My youngest child just turned five recently.
Right now, there is one problem with bath time.
It is the issue of whether to go into the men's bath or the women's bath.
Our family composition is,
Men's team: Husband, eldest son, and 5-year-old second son (youngest). Women's team: Eldest daughter and me.
Since both my eldest daughter and I have long hair, it takes time to wash and dry it.
We have to wait in line for the hair dryer, and the women's bath team inevitably comes out late.
On the other hand, the men's bath team is fast.
They wash quickly and come out quickly.
Moreover, my eldest son hasan amazing imagination for mischief.
For my youngest son, bath time with his brother seems to be a lot of fun.
But at the same time, he still has a little bit of a desire to be pampered by Mom.
So every time, he wavers between going to the men's bath or the women's bath.
To be honest, my eldest daughter and I would prefer he go to the men's bath (lol).
My eldest daughter and I like hot water, but my youngest likes it lukewarm.
Besides, the women's bath team inevitably takes a long time in the bath.
So, to be honest, I want to take a relaxing bath once in a while.
But on this trip, my youngest chose the women's bath.
As expected, we ended up leaving the bath while bickering, with him saying "I don't want to get out yet" and me saying "We're getting out now."
But then,
my eldest daughter said quietly.
“The youngest one won't be taking baths with us in about four years, right?”
In that moment,
“it will end”
suddenly felt real.
Even though I'm exhausted every day,
the thought of it ending makes me sad.
I will probably
never forget this chaotic bath time,
ever.
