ðLibrary of the Boundary | Heart's Transit Lounge #02ð The Moonlit Night That Taught Me the Courage to Receiveð
Good evening, it's Mikiâ€ïž
On my way home from work, while watching the scenery flow by from the train window, I was reflecting on today's events.
Today, there was something that made my heart feel a little unsettled.
At the morning assembly, a colleague was commended.
âMs. XX has been recognized for her contributions to this project.â
Applause broke out.
I also clapped with a smile.
Because she really worked hard, I felt âcongratulationsâ from the bottom of my heart.
But, a small voice whispered in my heart.
âI feel like I'm in the same place no matter how many years I work hard.â
Even though I take on whatever is asked of me, even though I work busily every day, when I see someone else being evaluated, I end up feeling, âIs my effort still not enough?â
I returned home and drew a card as I always do.
What appeared today wasâ
18. âThe MoonââWhat is this card trying to tell me?â
Thinking this, I stared at the card and gently closed my eyes.
The next momentâ

The soft sensation of soil reached my feet.
A quiet night forest.
It is the entrance to the boundary forest illuminated by moonlight.
As I walked along the cobblestone path, I saw the lights of the familiar old library.

When I opened the heavy door, the fire in the fireplace was crackling quietly.
At the round wooden table were the four guardians.
I gently placed âThe Moonâ card on the table.
âWhen I see someone being evaluated...â
âI end up thinking, âIs my effort not enough?ââ
â
ð Lilia
âI see...â
âA company is a place where results are easy to see, after all.â
âWhen someone else is evaluated, you sometimes feel like youâve been left behind, donât you?â
I nodded quietly.

Lilia smiled gently.
âBut you know, even if you can see that personâs âtoday,â you canât see the time they have accumulated.â
âAnd because you know all of your own daily efforts, you tend to only see the parts that are lacking.â
âThatâs why it becomes painful.â
â
ð Seraphina
While listening to Liliaâs words, Seraphina quietly closed her book.
âWhat caught my attention were these words.â
âAm I not enough?â
âIs that really the case?â
Only the fire in the fireplace swayed quietly.

âI feel differently.â
âYou didnât want to be evaluated; you wanted your own accumulation to be acknowledged.â
I caught my breath.
â...That might be true.â
Seraphina smiled gently.
âThe Moon is not a card that blames you for your anxiety.â
âIt is a card that illuminates the true wish hidden deep within that anxiety.â
â
ð§ Estelle
Estelle placed her compass on the table and began to speak quietly.
âTaking Seraphinaâs words into account, it seems the theme here is not âevaluation.ââ
âIn work, evaluation and value do not necessarily align.â
âEvaluation changes with the environment and timing.â
âBut value continues to grow through daily accumulation.â
I listened quietly.

âAnd one more thing.â
âHavenât you received some kind words from someone recently?â
I reflected on it.
âI like your worldview.â
âIâm looking forward to it.â
âThatâs wonderful.â
Many people have given me such words.
But every time, I would reply, âNo, no,â or âSomeone like me...â
Estelle nodded calmly.
âTo receive is to trust.â
I looked up.
âTo believe that the feelings someone offered you are genuine.â
âAnd to receive them by saying âthank you.ââ
âThat, too, is a form of respect for the other person.â
Those words slowly soaked into my heart.
â
ðŠ Komachi
Komachi, who had been listening quietly the whole time, looked up at the moon floating outside the window.

"The moon looks like it's shining."
I look up at the night sky with her.
"But you know,"
"The moon has never once shone by its own light."
The firewood in the fireplace crackled softly.
"It simply receives the sun's light as it is."
I find myself staring at the moon.
Komachi continued quietly.
"I have never once seen the moon feel ashamed of receiving."
Those words warmed my heart.
"Only humans do that."
"Even when praised,"
"Even when helped,"
"Even when treated with kindness,"
"They say 'oh no' and deflect the light."
I couldn't say anything.
It felt as if she were talking about me.
Komachi smiles just a little.
"Today, be the moon."
The fire in the hearth flickered quietly.
"Receive the light offered to you just as it is."
"The light you receive will one day shine on someone else through you."
"That is the cycle."
âž»
For a while, no one spoke.
Only the fire in the hearth flickered quietly.
I stared at the 'Moon' card once more.
Until now, I had only ever
thought about giving things
to others.
But,
receiving
was not being spoiled,
nor was it a weakness.
To receive the feelings someone has offered you
by saying 'thank you'.
That is to believe in that person's heart.
And I learned that it is the beginning
of passing that kindness on
to someone else someday.
Today, just a little bit,
I think I will try to be like the moon.

ð Today's Signpost
The moon does not shine by itself.
It quietly receives the sun's light,
and delivers that light to the world of the night.
Perhaps we are the same.
Someone's kindness.
Someone's words.
Someone saying 'that's wonderful'.
To receive that with a 'thank you' is
not a weakness,
but a way to believe in the other person's feelings.
Tonight, why not try,
just a little, to receive the light like the moon?
