A Half-Year of Turning Dreams into Words and Reality: The Next Step for Mizuhiki Artist Yu [Connect Radio Episode 32]

In this episode of Connect Radio, we welcome back Mizuhiki artist Yu for the first time in six months.
In our last broadcast, Yu declared, "I will become a woman who earns 1 million yen a month!" She shared in detail the path she has walked over the past six months.
■ The "Waves" and "Solid Progress" Seen Over Six Months
Yu honestly admits that she hasn't reached her goal of 1 million yen in monthly income yet.
However, her expression is very bright as she says, "There were months where I could see 500,000 yen," making it clear that her hard work so far is truly taking shape.
There were months of steady growth, and months where she couldn't help but feel, "I feel bad for my husband..."
Because income has its ups and downs, she laughs and says, "Keeping your spirits up is the hardest part, but it's also the most important."
■ Wanting to Deliver My Work Overseas
A dream that Yu has always cherished is the desire to "deliver my Mizuhiki overseas."
Because she has continued to put this dream into words, new encounters and opportunities have emerged over the past six months.
Recently, to reach more people with her work, she has taken on the challenge of introducing a booking site, attended Hirai-san's seminar on business operations, and is finally about to take the step into creating a website.
■ SNS is a Flyer, a Website is a Store
In this broadcast, the discussion about the relationship between SNS and websites was also impressive.
"Instagram and X are like flyers. They make people think, 'That looks interesting!', but if there isn't a proper 'store' waiting for them, it's no good," says Hirai-san.
Yu herself realized that when she receives requests from companies, she always checks their website to see "what kind of company they are," and she felt once again that "that is exactly why I need a place to properly organize my activities."
■ When You Put It Into Words, Someone Will Take Action
"When you say it out loud, someone will pick up on it."
What Yu values is this act of "putting things into words."
She says that every time she says, "I want to try this," people appear who say, "Let's do it together" or "How about this?"
Even for things you can't do alone, by thinking about who to partner with, you can reach out to them when the time comes.
"Maybe combining sake and Mizuhiki would be interesting!" It seems that hints for collaborations like that are expanding rapidly.
■ The next half-year, toward the next step
"I want to exceed 800,000 yen this time!"
Finally, when asked about her next goal, Yu gave us another new declaration.
Even when things don't go as planned, nothing starts unless you take that first step.
Because nothing changes just by thinking, she takes action, no matter how small.
Yu's challenge is still ongoing.
If you put your dreams into words and take action, they will take shape.
I look forward to seeing what kind of "next step" Yu will be taking in half a year!
