The Mori Hotaru Soda is ready.

Like the warm light of a lantern being lit on a summer night that gradually shifts from pale purple to a deep night sky.

This spring, my friend's mother opened a shop.

Since I returned to my hometown and she knew I had always wanted to run a cafe, she has let me get involved in various aspects of the shop.

She said, 'If there is anything you want to do or can do, please help out as much as you can!' 💡

Recently, I have been helping with photography and creating Instagram posts.

And this time, I created a drink for an event held near the shop 💫

At my previous cafe job, I spent about three years coming up with two or three new drinks every month, so it is actually my specialty and something I really love doing.

The event held in the neighborhood of the shop is an evening cooling-off event called 'Mori Hotaru' (Forest Fireflies).

Handmade lanterns are lined up along the eaves,
allowing you to stroll through a fantastical summer night town.

The location is Mori Town in Shizuoka, a town rich in nature.

There are mountains, the sound of a babbling brook nearby, and the scent of rice plants and the sound of crickets drifting from the rice fields.

The kind of summer that Japanese people imagine as their hometown still exists there. It is a town I love very much.

'It is not a place many people visit, but since we are lighting the lanterns, I want to make this summer night an opportunity for people to come to Mori Town.'

That is what my friend's mother, who runs the shop, told me.

What can I do?

Should I offer Dubai chocolate or a soda in the member color of someone's favorite idol that might attract young people?

That didn't feel quite right.

And so, I created the 'Mori Hotaru Soda.' It is a drink that blends into the townscape and the atmosphere of the event, while still allowing you to feel the special excitement of a summer night. Fizzy and sparkling.

With passion fruit and a hint of butterfly pea that drifts through the nose, it has turned into a drink with a tropical and refreshing sweetness.

Mori is a small town that makes me wonder how many people, even among Shizuoka residents, have ever visited.

I hope that 'Mori Hotaru' and this drink will act like a lantern illuminating Mori Town, serving as a catalyst for people to gather in the town, one or two at a time.🎐
