From Akita, where a mild winter with no snow during the New Year holidays has become nothing unusual, I share a glimpse of the plump sparrows flocking to the Norway spruce and plum trees in my parents' garden, in honor of the Year of the Rooster. I was woken up again this year by the grand chorus that begins with the first sunrise.
