How many health assets do you have?
🍀May everyone be happy today as well🍀
My name is Clover, the manager of the Happiness Investment Note channel.
Thank you for finding my note among the many pages out there😊
In this note, I will be writing under the theme of:
“40s, family of 4” × “Single income” × “Investment for happiness”
I hope this will be a catalyst for happiness for those in similar circumstances.
The top image is a banyan tree.
Its flower language is “health”.
Today, I would like to talk about something related to “health”.
“How many health assets do you have?”
When people hear the word “assets,” many think of “money.”
However, in my “Happiness Investment Note channel,” I think of assets by dividing them into three categories: money, health, and relationships.
Just as money has types like cash, stocks, and investment trusts,
health also has various forms of “assets.”
For example,
・Waking up easily in the morning
・Having no stiff shoulders
・Not catching colds
・Not getting out of breath when climbing stairs
・Food tasting delicious
・Sleeping soundly
These are all valuable “health assets.”
Even if each one seems small, they significantly affect the comfort of your life when they add up.
Health does not have “compound interest”
In the world of investment, “compound interest” is said to be the strongest.
However, in the world of health, it is a little different.
This is what I think.
Health does not have the upward growth like compound interest.
This is because as you age, the “parts that can be improved” decrease,
and the ratio of “maintenance” and “depletion” increases.
To borrow Schopenhauer's words,
one could say that the happiness of life lies in the “absence of pain.”
In other words, it becomes more important to “not lose” health than to “increase” it.
Even so, health can be “improved”
That said, there is no need to give up because of your age.
I myself succeeded in losing 10kg between the ages of 40 and 41.
I was right in the middle of what is called middle-age spread.
It is a period when it is said that fat is hard to lose.
However, as a result of calculating calories burned and properly managing intake,
my weight decreased exactly as the theory predicted.
In other words, I feel that “becoming harder to lose weight” is more about the decrease in free time than a problem of physical constitution.
Health improvement is influenced by “how you use your time,” not by age.
That is what I realized.
By the way, I am 165cm tall, so I want to lose a little more. I will talk about this another time.

From “increasing” health assets to “protecting” them
When you are young, you are in a stage of “increasing” health, such as by training your body or improving your records in sports.
However,
as you age, compared to when you were young, there is a limit to the “time you can freely use for yourself.” Work, children, caregiving, etc. When that happens, you enter a stage of overwhelmingly “protecting” compared to when you were young.
To protect them,
・Sleep early💤
・Do not overeat🍽️
・Do not accumulate stress😖
・Move your body regularly💪
Such simple things are the most reliable investments.
And by “counting” them, you can notice the health you have now.
The more health assets you have, the easier it is to be happy
People with many health assets
can move comfortably from the morning, enjoy meals, and have the energy to interact with people.
That, as a result, leads to good relationships and fulfillment in work.
I don't think “happy people count their health assets,” but rather
that people with more health assets find it easier to feel happy.
Finally
Count assets by “how many” rather than “how much.”
When you apply that way of thinking to health,
you realize how much wealth you already have.
How many health assets do you have?
I have prepared 10 checkpoints below.
Please try counting them once.
Health Asset Checklist
1. Investment in sleep💤
Prepare your bedding, put away your smartphone, and sleep for 7 hours or more.
→ “Sleeping” is the investment that produces the greatest return.
2. Investment in diet🍽️
Do not skip breakfast, and be conscious of eating vegetables and protein.
→ A well-balanced diet is like a “regular savings plan” for your body.
3. Investment in exercise💪
Walk even a little every day, and continue stretching.
→ Muscles are the principal that continues to generate “interest” in health.
4. Investment in posture🧎
Straighten your back, and prevent sitting too much.
→ Posture is “infrastructure investment” for breathing, blood flow, and concentration.
5. Investment in weight management🏃♀️
Record the amount you ate and your weight.
→ Visualization is the easiest “risk management.”
6. Investment in mental health❤️
Touch nature, listen to your favorite music, and create time for yourself.
→ If your mind is stable, your body's performance will also increase.
7. Investment in relationships🥰
Talk to people you trust, and express gratitude.
→ Smiles and conversation increase the “dividends” of the heart.
8. Investment in prevention🏥
Get a health checkup, and go to the dentist regularly.
→ Early response is equivalent to “cutting losses” in health.
9. Investment in time⏰
Go to bed early and wake up early, and use 15 minutes in the morning for yourself.
→ “How you use your time” is the biggest factor that determines the return on health.
10. Investment in learning📕
Update your knowledge of health and nutrition.
→ Knowledge enhances the “management ability” of all health investments.
Thank you very much for reading this far.
I would be happy if you could drop by again when you feel like it.
