Maybe I'll try writing tanka
Recently, I've started to become interested in tanka. The trigger was the tanka written by my fellow note user, Yuni. The words Yuni weaves vividly capture everyday scenes and emotions, and every time I read them, I am struck by their beauty.
Influenced by Yuni, and also because Yuni mentioned it was interesting, I picked up a book by Tatsuya Kinoshita titled 'A Tanka Class for Ordinary People by a Genius.' It was truly fascinating.
Just like taking a photograph, condensing the emotions, memories, or even the world itself at that moment into 31 characters. I found that to be quite interesting.
I also thought it would be wonderful if I could heal people's hearts with tanka. Of course, things like the essays I write now are good, but something that reaches the reader's heart more directly, like a charm. I felt that tanka could do that.
I plan to learn about tanka while I write. It would be great if that also leads to improving my writing in general. Also, remixing old tanka into a modern style seems like it could be fun.
First, I want to express my own little world by putting trivial daily events and emotions into tanka. And someday, I hope to be able to compose tanka that can warmly wrap around someone's heart.
Thank you for reading until the end.
I am always encouraged by your likes and follows.
Thank you!
The one who is about to get hooked on making tanka,
Tsukuda @ Book Editor x Author!
I will continue to do my best so that this note remains a 'place where everyone can heal their weary hearts and gather strength for a fresh start.' Thank you for your continued support.
May you have a happy day!
