Words Do Not Kill People [Today's Tanka]

Is the pen not a sharp sword, but silk that wraps one in gentle love?

People often say, "The pen is mightier than the sword."
And they also say, "We have freedom of expression."

To me, words are
silk that wraps around the hearts of those who are hurt.

I want to use my freedom of expression
for "gentle innovation."

Gentle innovation is a way of thinking that aims for days where everyone can live easily.
Even if we are weak,

even if we find life difficult,
and even if we have depression,
we should be able to live with a smile.

With that prayer in mind,
I coined the term "gentle innovation."

To those who say the pen is a sword:
Precisely because it is a sword, the pen is not something to be swung around recklessly.
