It's mid-July, and the cicadas are lively too😀
But with the temperatures lately, I wonder if the cicadas will stop singing before long...😓

Thinking about that, I remembered something strange related to cicadas. This time, I'll talk about that memory.

Episode 148: Influenced by my sister...😅

I don't really have an impression of the Min-min cicada.
I have almost no impression of the cicada's "min-min" sound.
The cicada I saw most often when I was a child was probably the Abura cicada.

But lately, when you say cicada, it's the Kuma cicada!
I only hear the sound of Kuma cicadas, to the point where I want to say that.

The sound of such Kuma cicadas is generally written like this.

"Sha-sha-sha-sha..."

But you know.
I think it was when my sister was a college student? She put a strange idea into my head😅


Sister Mari
"The cicadas are singing 'Die, die, die, die... waaaaaaah!'"


At first, I thought my sister was crazy. Did something bad happen to her, and she damaged her mind? I even felt that way.


But... my sister kept telling me over and over.
That the cicadas are singing "Die, die, die, die... waaaaaaah!"


Then, one summer day, the moment I stepped outside the house, I heard a great chorus of cicadas...

Kuma cicada
"Die, die, die, die... waaaaaaah!"

They're saying die😱

Since then, I can only hear the Kuma cicada's sound as "Die, die, die, die... waaaaaaah!"😅

When I told this story to a friend, it seems she also started hearing the Kuma cicada's sound as only "Die, die, die..."😅

My sister has put other strange ideas into my head too.

Sister Mari
"The BGM when you enter FamilyMart is 'Die right now, die soon'"


After being told that for so long, it really started to sound like that to me😓

Lately, it's advanced from just sound to text too.
In a TV commercial for foundation, a caption appeared saying "Coverage power to hide blemishes." My sister said this about it.


Sister Mari
"Coverage... you idiot"

She means it looks like "Can you hide blemishes, you idiot" instead of "Coverage power to hide blemishes"😅


When I first heard it, I laughed out loud because it was pretty funny.
After that, I couldn't see that catchphrase as anything but "Can you hide blemishes, you idiot"😓

Well, younger siblings are influenced by their older siblings to a greater or lesser extent😅
In my case, I'm being influenced like this😓

Speaking of cicadas!
