Happiness x Habits
"How to create a constitution that makes it easy to be happy,"
is there really such a thing!?
I spend my days thinking about things like that,
and I'm writing down what I've noticed.
Habits are very important, aren't they?
Many successful people even say that
"habits create your life."
Do you all have
anything you make a habit of doing every day?
For example,
Morning activities
Taking a walk
Drinking sparkling water
Visiting the local tutelary shrine
Stretching at night
Making others happy
Nurturing self-love in others
Keeping a diary
Reading books
Setting a time limit for using your smartphone
I often hear these from you all.
I wrote an article about what such habits
bring to us.
If you are already good at forming habits, please don't read this!
Changing the subject,
I used to be a monk before.
Huh!? That's the first time I've heard that!
That's right,
a quitter
is what kind of monk I was.
Now, I have been able to transform from that
quitter into a
365-day Afro (the antonym of a quitter)!
I will briefly write about how I was able to transform from a quitter
into a 365-day Afro.
First,
❶ Decide on specific rules for timing, frequency, quantity, and difficulty when making something a habit.
Also, giving your habit a name is good.
For example,
decide on rules such as waking up at 5:30 every morning, writing 3 lines in a diary for 30 minutes, and reading.
Also, for the name, try giving it a name like "Hiro-teen 530" as a morning routine that you do from 5:30 every morning.
Next,
❷ Decide on a time to review your habits.
There are habits that work well and those that don't.
For example, decide on a review period of one week in advance,
and if it goes well, continue.
If it doesn't go well, stop or review the rules.
You could reduce the frequency or change the timing of when you do it.
Finally,
❸ Find ways to make it fun to continue.
This is the most important thing🤗
For example, try marking a circle on your calendar once you've completed your habit.
Decide on a reward for when you've kept it up for seven days.
Tell your family or friends that you are keeping it up,
and have them praise you.
Things like that.
Actually, there was a smartphone app
that helps with ❸.
You might
already know about it, but...
I heard about it from a friend the other day.
As for what it's like,
you form a team of five people with the same goal,
and while reporting your progress to each other,
you establish your habits.
It's only been seven days since I started,
but I'm challenging myself with five items
and I've kept up with all of them.
By the way, the items I'm challenging are
- Walking
- Yoga
- Studying for certifications
- Happy exercise
(Keio University research)
- Moxibustion
these five themes.
Moxibustion is a habit I started
after coming across Yuki-san's article at the end of the year.
So, I don't know the first thing
about how to do moxibustion,
but the experienced team members I met on the app
are kindly teaching a total beginner like me
the basics of moxibustion❣️
It's just too wonderful😊
Through this app, I've made friends with the same goals,
and I'm enjoying building my habits.
By building habits,
you can gain a healthy body
and increase your knowledge, but
the even more wonderfuleffectis this‼️
The moment you feel you've 'managed to continue' a habit,
a sense of power wells up inside you😊
I wonder what it is⁉️
Thispoweris.
This power pushes you forward.
And, you can feel happiness.
Even if it's a small thing,
deciding on a habit you like for yourself,
and continuing it,
I thought that was a truly wonderful thing.
Please do share the habits
that you practice every day as well😊
May you encounter habits today
that help you feel happy as well‼️
