Parenting Diary Day 6 | Iro Diary
Good evening. This is Koto.
Parenting diary day 6.
Iro-kun is 54 days old.
Today, Iro-kun slept until about 9 a.m., so the whole family had a bit of a late start. My husband, who was sleeping between breastfeeding sessions, woke up at 10 a.m. It felt a bit like our life as a couple before Iro-kun arrived.
Well, morning came, and Iro-kun was in a good mood. We went for a late morning walk, and when we got back, he was dozing off, so I put him in his bouncer. Perhaps the gentle rocking was comfortable, because he fell right asleep. The bouncer is amazing!
Today, he slept in the bouncer so much I could call it 'Bouncer Day.' It was worth bringing it back from my parents' house, even if I stumbled along the way. Tears.
He has started getting into the bathtub with his dad, and when he comes out all warm and cozy, he is in a much better mood than during his sponge baths, which is just so cute.
During the day, for some reason, he refused to breastfeed. He would shake off the nipple while screaming, 'A-i-u-e-o, e-u! A-i-u-e-o, e-u!' It felt like he was saying, 'Don't give me breast milk, give me formula already!!' and it broke my heart.

I couldn't help but think, 'Is this how we transition to formula-only feeding...'
Breastfeeding is tough, but I love the privilege of being the closest one to see him nursing and the satisfied expression he makes after he's finished. That's why breastfeeding refusal makes me sad.
Even with the breastfeeding refusal today, I was saved by the bouncer, and it was a very peaceful day.
Tomorrow, my husband's parents are coming to visit.
I'm looking forward to it.
It will be Iro-kun's first time meeting his grandpa and grandma.
Let's have a fun and healthy day tomorrow too.
Iro-kun. Good night.
