Once again, I will participate in Aki-san's project for poetry as well ⇩

The

|ephemeral days I spent with you

Those days that truly existed

I gather them up and stitch them down

Until the day I come to an end

Without ever fading away

Carbonated embroidery

People, things, events.

As long as we live, where there are meetings, there are partings.

Where there is a beginning, there is also an end.

Looking back on it later, those countless encounters are as fleeting as carbonated bubbles.

Those things that vanished from before my eyes are pushed to the far reaches of memory, and if I'm not careful, they dissolve into the sea of memory as if they never existed at all.

But,

Words received, emotions received, love received.

I stitch those precious memories into myself, one by one.

In time, they become a pattern that is uniquely my own.

With gratitude for the irreplaceable people, things, and events that made me who I am today,

I will wear them and live on, until the day I am no more.

They say people die twice.

The first time is physical death.

The second time is when everyone who has memories of you is gone.

I hope that I, too, can become one of those gentle embroideries that covers and protects someone's heart.

Carbonated bubbles have an image of popping with energy, but on the other hand, I also feel the transience of them disappearing without a trace.

On the other hand, embroidery (such as embroidered clothing) carries the image of being stitched into place by the creator, one stitch at a time with heart, and being cherished and used for a long time by the person who receives the work.

I wrote a poem with those feelings in mind.

Having to unwillingly part ways with a loved one,

"I will never, ever forget you for as long as I live...!!"

It is a poem that can also be interpreted in a highly carbonated embroidery-like sense, but...

I suppose that is also part of the fun (lol).
