It makes you think
It is not just humans who fight; sometimes animals are made to fight each other.
In Okinawa, there is bullfighting where bulls are made to fight each other.
There is also dogfighting where dogs are made to fight; breeds like the Tosa are famous for it.
There is also cockfighting where roosters are made to fight; in cockfighting, they sometimes tie blades to the roosters' legs to make them fight.
Even in human combat sports, there are hard rules like "bare-knuckle fighting without gloves," but of course, there are no combat sports that use blades.
I used to think that making animals fight each other was truly wrong.
I think it is fine for humans to fight if they like and choose to do so themselves, but I think it is wrong to make bulls, roosters, or dogs fight for human convenience.
However, animal fighting is sometimes connected to local culture or religious rituals, and there are people who make a living by being involved in it.
When you think about it that way, perhaps there is some meaning to animal fighting as well.
Approaching 50, albeit a bit late, I have been thinking a lot lately that you cannot understand things from just one perspective.
