Erase my memory
I want to erase my memory and do such and such.
This kind of phrasing is interesting, isn't it?
It's a phrase you often hear in games and movies.
If it were a game, I'd like to erase my memory and play Pokémon Red and Green.
Starting from Pallet Town with a blank slate.
N-no, I didn't start writing on this theme just because I wanted to say that!
The point is the part about erasing your memory, right?
But this is dangerous.
A state where you have absolutely no information about that game.
You might get frustrated and quit halfway through.
There were bosses you barely managed to beat by luck, right?
There's a possibility you might give up because you can't defeat them.
If that happens, you would permanently lose the emotional climax you were supposed to experience, the thrill of a rare equipment drop, and the joy of setting a good record.
It's precisely because you have the memories that you can play through it smoothly and"Ah, how nostalgic."immerse yourself in nostalgia.
If you were to erase your memory.
You would be throwing away those feelings that resemble melancholy.
Are you really sure about that?
It's not limited to games; there are almost no situations where it's good to erase your memory.
Because we have memories, we can manage risks, and because we have memories (experiences), we can become wiser.
It is wiser not to erase them recklessly.
Even so, let's rack our brains and think about it.
Things I would like to erase my memory of to enjoy again.
Hmm.
This and that are all a bit underwhelming.
Ah, but wait.
I found one.
Something I can enjoy without any risk.
I would like to erase my memory and read the essays written by a note creator named Zenkei.
Because they are interesting. I would love to read them with a fresh mind for once.
Reader: "Yeah, yeah, I get it."
Anti-fan: "I hate to admit it, but that's true."
First-time reader: "Lucky me, getting to read this with a fresh mind."
Zenkei: "Isn't this a disadvantage for me?"
Since I am the one for whom it is most impossible, I think so more than anyone else.
So, thinking that, I tried reading some old articles.
The ones where I couldn't even remember the content just by looking at the title.
Yeah.
I was able to read them with a fresh perspective.
Setting aside whether they were interesting or not for a moment.
It felt like I was reading them with my memory completely erased.
I was so stunned that I couldn't remember them at all, to the point where I wondered if I really wrote them.
I thought things like, 'If it were me now, I'd phrase this differently,' or 'I'd want to add more to this.'By the way, it's a secret that there were only two likes.
I could see the struggle, as if they were written during a time when posting every day was tough.
If you're a long-time creator, try reading your own articles from a long time ago once.
You can experience 'erasing your memory' and doing something.
You can spend a quite fun and meaningful time.
Since I have no memory of them, it's not so much nostalgia as it is embarrassment that wins out, though.
But there's no doubt that I wrote them.
Not having a memory of something is a strange sensation.
I hope you'll give it a try and enjoy it.
By the way, if you could actually erase your memory, would you be able to recognize the fact that you 'erased' it?erasedwould you be able to recognize that?
If we cannot recognize it, perhaps we have already been made to forget many things.
See you later.
