[selfish] Member Introduction Series: Cocoa Nagisa (Graduated 2025.9.3)
Introduction
There are less than two weeks left until the TIF Main Stage Competition Live Finals! I am writing this in the hope that those who happen to come across my note will learn about the appeal of selfish. If you are planning to watch the TIF Main Stage Competition Live Finals via stream or go to the venue and vote for the performance,
selfish is absolutely great, so please vote for them! This time, I would like to write a [Member Introduction] article in a series, one person at a time!
The first installment is an introduction to selfish's Hanairo (flower color) member, Cocoa Nagisa!

The Appeal of Cocoa Nagisa
Despite being the youngest member (along with Yuri Tachibana), I think she blends into the world of selfish with a dignified performance. In other groups, she might end up with a 'little sister' character, but I personally feel that wouldn't match the concept of selfish, so I think Cocoa's calm atmosphere, even as the youngest, has a positive effect on the group.
Also, Cocoa has a distinctive voice. It's cute, but not overly sweet; it has a core to it, and I think it provides a nice accent to selfish!

My Personal Favorite Scenes of Cocoa Nagisa
I will introduce two songs!
1st Song: Bon Voyage
I like the part from 3 minutes and 9 seconds in, where the excitement drops once before heading toward the climax.
Cut the rusted anchor
The things that tied you down
There is nothing
You can become anything, now let's move forward
As I wrote in my article interpreting the lyrics, this is the part of the Bon Voyage lyrics that brings out the 'selfish-ness.' Also, the spotlight is on Cocoa, and the members are surrounding her, and I like how the choreography feels like it's unleashing that, giving her a protagonist-like presence.
2nd Song: Natsuzora (Summer Sky)

Natsuzora begins with Cocoa's opening vocals, and she sings the part that continues to the end: 'I won't forget, today's sky, forever and ever with you.'
Since the song itself is short, these are the only two parts where she has solo lines, but it's so impressive that I think of Natsuzora as 'Cocoa's song.'
Natsuzora is a song that drifts with a somewhat melancholic feeling, and I feel it suits Cocoa's vocal quality. If I had to describe it, it's like a wind chime; it's very soothing.
Conclusion
I believe Kokoa Nagisa is a presence who adds accents to selfish's songs and brings them to life!
Under the blue sky at TIF, be sure to pay attention to "Natsuzora," which begins with Kokoa!
Appendix: Explanation of Hanairo (Flower Color)

When you search for "Hanairo," colors like emerald green also appear in the results, but looking at the costumes, I believe this is the correct color.
It is an elegant, slightly muted, bluish-purple color.
Hue: It is a color that has a sense of calm within its vibrancy, giving a somewhat mysterious and delicate impression. Unlike typical blues or purples, it possesses a unique depth and softness.
Etymology: The name "Hanairo" (flower color) originates from a color traditionally dyed using the blue juice of dayflower petals. The blue-purple hue of the dayflower's lovely blossoms became the source of the name "Hanairo."
Historical Background: It is a color that has been familiar to Japanese people since ancient times, with poems in the "Man'yoshu" mentioning dyeing clothes with dayflowers. While it was sometimes used as an abbreviation for "Hanada-iro" (light indigo) in the past, its basic meaning refers to the blue-purple color derived from the dayflower.
That concludes the explanation of Hanairo!
Next time, I plan to write about Yuri Tachibana!
