[selfish] What was the most performed song by the idol group selfish in 2025?

Introduction

December is finally here.
It has been almost a year since I started my fan activities.
I want to write my notes in December focusing on posts that look back on my 2025 fan activities.
First, as the first part of my retrospective notes, I will look back at the setlists for selfish from January to November 2025.

I plan to write up to the third part.

Reference Data

I always refer to the posts by Rei Shimizu, the setlist writer for selfish.

First, the number of performances held in 2025 was 165 performances is.
Among them, the total number of songs performed by selfish.

That number is a staggering "991 songs".

This includes 21 cover songs performed at birthday events and the like.
Excluding those, that means "970 songs" of pure selfish tracks were performed on stage this year.
selfish is amazing! Respect once again.

Since December is still ahead, it will definitely reach 1,000 songs for the year. lol

Annual Performance Count Ranking

So, specifically, which songs were performed the most?
First, please take a look at the top 10 by simple "performance count".

There are 2 songs with over 100 performances lol.
As expected, the strong one is "Blue".
Out of all 165 performances, it was performed a total of 114 times.
It was performed in about 70% of the live shows.

The number of times the selfish tantrum was stomped was also 114 times.
The number of times Nako-chan went as Blue was also 114 times.
That calculates to "canned coffee" being sung 228 times.

It is a performance count that can be called a representative song of selfish in both name and reality.

And the top-tier lineup following with "Applause," "Stardust," and "Transparent Boundless" is convincing.
Personally, I was a bit surprised that "Bouquet" was 5th; I thought it would be "Bon Voyage" or "Overheat."
However, since both are songs from this year, considering that, both songs have a high performance count.

What if we look at it by "selection rate"...?

Since it's natural for new songs to have fewer performance counts, I created another ranking.
It is a ranking of the "selection rate (setlist adoption rate)" using the number of performances since the song was announced as the denominator.
Looking at this, we can also see "closet," "Overheat," "Bon Voyage," "NO SUMMER NO BLUE," "Summer Sky," "Blue Margin," and "Listen and Love Me" released this year on an equal footing.

Now, please take a look at the top 10.

The top 4 songs in the frequency ranking remain unchanged.
What is noteworthy is "Ao no Yohaku", and since it is a new song from September, it did not make it into the top 10 for total annual performances, but it sits at 6th place in this ranking.
This means it has been performed every other day since its release, which objectively shows that it is being pushed.
It has effectively established a regular status and is a threat to the top 4 songs next year. (What exactly is it threatening? lol)

The greatness of "Blue"

Regarding the #1 ranked song, "Blue", the impressiveness of the data is not just in the simple number of performances.
What is worth noting is its "role" in the setlist.

• 1st song (Opening): 32 times (most frequent)

• Last song (Finale): 40 times (most frequent)

"Blue" was the most frequent choice for both the beginning and the end.
(By the way, the 2nd most frequent finale song is "Kassai" at 34 times.)

"Starting with Blue to unite the venue"
"Closing with Blue to leave a lingering impression"

It turns out that 1 out of every 5 selfish live shows starts with "Kan Coffee", and 1 out of every 4 ends with "Kan Coffee".

Finally, here is a heat map that visualizes the "timing of when each song is performed" using color.
I just stylishly called the heat map a "Blue Map." lol

The vertical axis represents the song title, and the horizontal axis represents "which number in the setlist the song was performed." The more frequent the performance, the darker the color becomes.

Looking at this "Blue Map," you can see that the "fixed position" for each song is completely different.

1. The explosive starter "Hanataba"
Looking at "Hanataba," the left side (1st-4th songs) is a deep blue.
It is clear that this song is the "point man" that is overwhelmingly used early in the set.
Since it served as the finale after the encore at the 2nd one-man live "Ao no Yohaku," I personally have a strong impression of it as a late-set song, but the trend shows it is an early-set song.

2. The universal remedy that appears anywhere "Hoshikuzu"
On the other hand, looking at "Hoshikuzu," the colors are widely scattered throughout.
It is used to build momentum at the start, to change the mood as a bridge in the middle, and sometimes to pile on the pressure in the second half. As if to say "Hoshikuzu when in trouble," it was selfish's strongest utility player that could shine in any situation.
The heat map of "Hoshikuzu," which looks like a flowing galaxy, is beautiful. Yuri Tachibana emerging from a deserted shrine was elusive.

3. The relief ace supporting the second half "pieces"
While many songs tend to be biased toward the first half, "pieces" has colors remaining on the right side (second half) of the map.
As the live show approaches the final stages, you can see that "pieces" is playing an active role as a bridge to the final spurt.

Conclusion

Yesterday, YouTube Music told me my "2025 Highlights."
Here are the results.

Since "Blue" is a 3-minute and 35-second song, I have listened to it nearly 315 times from April 6th, when I first discovered selfish, until today.
Nanako Kazuki starts the song. I got goosebumps when "Blue" played during the highlight.
I am posting my note on the lyrical interpretation of my favorite song, "Blue."
I had just started writing notes, and it is a memorable song that I wrote about while crying because I loved the lyrics so much.

The baby blue reflected in your eyes
