[Anime Review] Tsurune: I was struck through the heart by the beautiful visuals and sound. It's wonderful.

A story about those who dedicate their youth to Kyudo, centered around five boys from the Kazemai High School Kyudo Club: Minato, Seiya, Ryohei, Nanao, and Kaito.

It's incredibly good. I binged it all at once.

The beautiful visuals by Kyoto Animation and the sound were amazing.

From the creaking sound of drawing the bow to the 'twang' of the string when the arrow is released.
The sound of the arrow whistling through the air and hitting the target with a sharp 'thwack'.

This sequence of sounds was truly incredible.
I recommend watching with headphones or earphones.

The posture when shooting the arrow is also beautiful, and even though the action of drawing the bow is slow, the way you can see the tension and the subtle movements of the arms shows just how much care was put into the animation; it really comes through.

The original work is a novel, but it's amazing how they managed to adapt that world of text into visuals like this.
I'm at a loss for words.

Each character has a complex background, and the human drama was also very deep and interesting.

Changing from a boy to an adult during adolescence...

The changes in relationships with childhood friends, the relationship with the mentor, and the process of facing oneself through Kyudo and growing into an adult were all depicted with such care, which was wonderful.

Each personality is very well-balanced, and I'm sure you'll be able to find a character you can empathize with.

On the other hand, you might also find characters you don't like.

Sometimes characters appear in stories that you just don't like, right?
It's not quite the same as saying 'I clearly hate them,' but more like 'I don't like this specific thing about this character...'
But that's an emotion that only arises when the character depiction is solid.

If the character depiction is vague, you don't really get that feeling of 'I don't like them.'
Although, in the end, you usually end up loving the characters you didn't like anyway...

By the way, I don't like Seiya.

There are girls in the Kazemai High School Kyudo Club, and each is a charming presence, but this story is mainly about the boys.
The girls seem to grow up faster than the boys and don't get into as much messy trouble, which I thought felt quite realistic.

I wonder how their sense of distance looks to actual men?
They are so infatuated with each other, and it felt like they were a bit too mentally dependent on the objects of their admiration, but...

Even if girls are close and dedicate their youth together, I feel like they might not have such intense connections...

It might just be me, but... lol
From my perspective, that part looked enviable and sparkling.

★ A lot of people appear, but they are all main characters, and it's amazing how each one has a different sound.
And their expressions were changing constantly, too. You can tell when you watch it continuously.
